The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
It seems like Hughes Healthcare is being plagiarised again ;) someone posted on here about a website www.hugheshealthcaretests.co.uk (which isn’t the real Hughes - it seems to be a copycat ) the real Hughes site is www.hugheshealthcarelabs.com (owned by a Mr J Hughes and part of his Hughes Group business) yet I see that someone by the name of Manduca has literally just set up a company ‘Hughes Healthcare Ltd’ incorporated 10th June (Company number 13450781) and launched a website www.hugheshealthcare.uk Looks like Manduca has made a carbon copy Hughes website which even claims to be part of Hughes Group (which is the company behind the real Hughes test (owned be Mr Jon Hughes). Manduca up to no good by the look of it! All very odd but if I were to guess, it looks like Manduca is trying to make a buck out of the real Mr Hughes’ business? The plot thickens..I doubt if Mr Hughes is very happy…
Hughes Healthcare received Home Use approval cert (CE0123) on 14th May from Notified Body TUV SUD Germany. A couple of other tests outside of the crap Innova product also Home Use approved now too Healgen and Boson (Xcalibur)
There are only a handful of Notified Bodies that can be used to evaluate tests for home use. The process from start to finish is taking between 4 to 6 months before a decision on approval is made so, it depends when / if Avacta applied for home use evaluation as to when that decision will be announced.
As I said, it is entirely up to you as to whether you trust what I say (purely trying to offer some realistic insight) but I think you will be surprised as to how much prices have come down in general and the resulting procurement price of all tests (including clinically proven accurate tests). I totally agree with your view on Innova! Total waste of materials! That said, even the proven, home use approved tests are still in the £2.50 to £3.50 range for general sale and those same tests are in Gov tenders (U.K. and worldwide) for sub £1.50 to £2.50 for multi million contracts

A far cry from $25
Also, as I said, I was attempting to be helpful to manage expectations on prices as I am deeply involved in the testing space. The current invitation to tender on the DPS is capped at Max Bids of £3.30 (apologies, typo earlier). I cannot send a link to that as the tender documentation is confidential. You will either have to trust me or not. Makes no difference to me ??
Hi there, I’m new to this forum so I hope you don’t mind me commenting but I have a little knowledge of this topic that you may or may not find helpful.
There are a number of similar sites to the link you provided which are trying to sell tests for similar prices (£7 or below). Having lots of experience in this market place, I can tell you that low volume quantities (a few hundred to a few thousand tests are typically selling for between £2.50 and £3.80, rather than £7)
As for U.K. Gov tender - the max bid permitted on the DPS tender was £3.20.
Hope this helps.
