The way to further increase oil production is through the tertiary recovery method or EOR. Although more expensive to employ on a field, EOR can increase production from a well to up to 75% recovery.

It's sounds as if there had a fair idea that the Nitrogen resource was there, becoming a bonded operator in Kansas for the sale of Nitrogen would have taken a while and the confidence to go about it. Also the research work with other areas are known to Highlands from historical tests data from wells in the area showing that Nitrogen levels of 95% purity and known High pressure formations!

Ideally placed to feed the Permian Basin to the south, and on the boarder of Colorado for the Niobrara DJ Basin lots of infrastructure in place near the Hugoton and Panoma gas fields with the helium reserve and the closure of it in 2021!

So excellent flow rates on a conventional nitrogen reservoir that has changed from a geological prospective resource with the sucessfull flow test of it being an indicated resource!

Next step is for the gas sample constitution test in the laboratory with Highlands research from historical tests data from wells in the area showing that Nitrogen levels of 95% purity!

Then Resource volumetric estimation where positional test wells will be drilled to prove up the area, best thing about conventional reservoirs is there is no fracking so the costs (vertical wells with perforations) and project resources will be simplified with the natural capture of the high pressure reservoir given up the resource with ease!

Another point that makes me confident of resource size and project success is that other areas are known to Highlands for the nitrogen resource as per RNS with the historical data from other operators in the area, plus they are talking to current drilling operators with the Kansas oil and gas commission.

Rough calculation 8 wells per 640 acre section (Have 800 acres) low cost vertical wells, $250k x 8 = $2m a month, so hopefully more acreage can be purchased with a good purity!

"The bank downgraded its projection for Permian supply growth by 50,000 bpd this year and next because the estimated ultimate recovery from the average Permian well is not increasing at the same rate as it once was, “despite the continued increase in proppant intensity and average lateral lengths,” a situation likely the result of “parent-child well interference and expansion into less-lucrative acreage.” In other words, the shale industry dramatically ramped up the intensity with which it drilled shale wells, but they have nearly picked just about all of the low-hanging fruit in terms of productivity gains."

That's an excellent research program, there are similarity's and same pages to this one posted a while ago but it's a bit longer, but what good piece would recommend this!

So wonder what's in the Carlile Formation don't think it's been mentioned it's made up of the Blue Hills shale, Fairport Shale and the Codell Formation could be oil and gas maybe? "In discussions with Kansas operator is drilling a well to be completed below the Carlile shale and if successful, this arrangement will enable Highlands to obtain valuable scientific data regarding the Carlile shale while saving the cost of drilling a second well, thereby removing the requirement to drill the Charlie-1. Highlands would only be responsible for rig time during sampling operations."
