To prove the concept you need analysis from real pad data from wells that oil and gas operators are drilling not just IP but longer term to understand how much is lost, it's pretty much a new concept that Highlands identified at an early stage and were on the ball with getting the patents done quickly, look at Halliburtons and Sclumberger's research papers and and a few news articles about this and is a massive problem but there's not a widespread knowledge of the issue here we have a test in the Permian Basin it's the most developed in pad drilling, other operators wanting the more efficient extraction of hydrocarbon's will have to start using protection to drill wells even closer with infill drilling!
Say for instant how would an operator know that his figures are not good or could even be better, they see their production data and they think that's it that is what the well produces, they think that's the figures but unknowing to them the production data can be greatly improved by taking into consideration all other wells producing in the vicinity!
So as the data and awareness increases in each basin about what operators are doing to each other wells then to increase their reserves this is the solution and is patented as you know so there is only this option available!
Domingo Mata is writing a research paper SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) which is the holy grail of research, so have a look it's one of the top 4 of issues in the oil and gas industry that's going to play a key role in how wells are drilled and completed on a multiwell pad end off!
And makes me think also about how Powell and WildHorse will be protected with the new wells being completed next to them, is it's going to be used here, I'll let you all think about this one with research!
