RE: Cote d'Ivoire. 2 (or more) future gold mines for Thor?4 May 2026 10:17
Probably not just me who can never remember how to read drill results. This is for those people!
Here is the breakdown of what each part means:
Drillhole GURC25-240: This is the unique identification name/number for the specific drill hole.
7m: This is the length of the intersectionβmeaning 7 meters of rock were sampled and found to contain gold.
at 1.50g/t Au: This is the average grade (concentration) of gold found in that 7-meter segment. "g/t Au" means grams per tonne of gold.
1.50 g/t is generally considered a reasonable grade, often indicating potential for an open-pit mine, depending on the project.
from 72m: This indicates the depth at which the 7-meter interval of gold-bearing rock begins. It means the mineralized sample was taken from 72 meters down to 79 meters (72 + 7) below the surface.
Summary: Drill hole GURC25-240 hit a 7-meter-long segment of gold-bearing rock starting 72 meters underground, with an average concentration of 1.50 grams of gold per tonne.
What this means for a mining company:
This is an "intersection" or "intercept". The results are used to determine if the gold concentration is high enough to make a profit (the "grade").This result suggests the company found a specific zone of mineralization, which they will compare to other holes in the area to map out a potential mine.
