Stop losses and people who panic when they see the price dip. The market does rely on those people to turn their pockets out so others can make money.

Personally I'm also glad I have traded Ceres over the past few years, the extra effort has got me out of the hole caused by purchases in the £5-10 range. I'd still be deep underwater if I hadn't bought the dips and sold at various advantagous moments. Both this and simply holding are fine as strategies and it's a personal decision. People coming to the board and posting their experiences is exactly what the board it for, surely?!

It will only hit small investors who are weak enough to sell at a loss. That is of course up to them if they want to let the shooters shake them upside down. Nothing material has changed since the recent gains and things will settle down and bounce back sooner or later. Those who are in it for the long haul will not be worried.

I don't agree. If someone comes at you with a baseless argument which contradicts what you've already said, and also contradicts what expert analysts are saying, there is absolutely no need to lower yourself to respond. Grizzly have already as good as proven they don't believe their own stance by pulling the plug on their short after just one day. If they truly thought the business plan was as bad as they say it is, they'd be leaving the short in place to maximise their returns.

I don't know much about shorting, but presumably if Grizzly truly believed the full contents of their "research report", their short would still be open?

Excellent stuff. Well done to everyone who has kept the faith, it's been a long few years but finally seeing some payback! The potential here now for this share is huge.

Insane really, but nothing surprises me anymore! The world's a right mess.

85% down according to my account. I did manage a few successful trades a while back though which probably mitigate this to around 70 odd percent. Still, no fun, but so far down now that no point selling. There may be very little chance of getting all my money back, but I won't be selling regardless now and so still relaxed about it. If I lose all my investment, then no worries.

I wouldn't say the share price has only headed north once in 2 years. Just this year there have been 3 significant spikes (a 60%+ increase in January, a similar increase in April/May and then 50% in sept/Oct). So there definitely have been opportunities, but it's so unpredictable that I'd be impressed if anyone managed to get in and out of all those at the right times. I am significantly down overall with some bad decision made too. Was recently tempted back at 228 and 170 and still holding those plus some previous batches at much higher prices. I have managed to buy and sell at various opportune moments as well though, which has significantly mitigated paper losses. The current falls seem well overdone now to me, but who knows?!

I know what you mean, but overall it's a good thing. Other factors are coming into play since the recent huge rises I would imagine, mostly profit taking from those who got in as the price shot up. Usually happens in that scenario. Things will settle down and then we will see what happens. I'm still positive in the long term, just ignoring the daily/weekly/monthly ups and downs other than occasional short term trading.

Why do you think that Gregmn? Strange to say well done to anyone selling at this price. Would be interested to know what position you hold.

Noggers, I'd sell them at various prices aiming for a 20% profit on what I bought them at. I bought the last tranch at 485p. I'll wait as long as it takes to either make the target profit or lose all my money. Of course, the strategy could change at some point depending on lots of factors, but at the moment I still believe Ceres' tech will be in demand over the coming years.

Noggers, but that's the same with every share isn't it? Movement of the price is what gives the opportunity to make (or lose) money. The other option is a more stable share price with a dividend, if you'd rather not fret over your potential loss every day, perhaps those type of shares would suit better? Or perhaps you really like the drama?! :P

Agreed, this could just as easily fall back 20-30% as rise the same amount as there doesn't seem to be a tangible reason for the current rise other than sentiment. That said, much of the price drops with Ceres over the past couple of years also seem to be mostly sentiment based as confidence evaporates and the effect snowballs. Anyway, all this micro /daily analysis of Ceres really won't work. I'm deep underwater but don't really care much, I'm standing firm on the deck until either a decent profit is made or I sink all the way to seabed with the shop! Good luck all!
