Forecasts that Marston's net debt will fall to approximately £920 million by the end of the 2024 fiscal year, a significant milestone achieved two years ahead of schedule.

2024 earnings per share (EPS) estimate for Marston’s to 5.9p, primarily due to the timing of the company’s disposal of its stake in Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company.

The broker notes that while the disposal is expected to be broadly earnings neutral for the current fiscal year, it enhances the quality of Marston’s earnings by reducing leverage and providing greater visibility on future cash flows.

Shore Capital also observed that Marston's might focus future deleveraging efforts more on profit growth rather than further reductions in net debt, potentially using excess cash flow for reinvestment or shareholder returns.

“Destiny appears to be increasingly back in Marston’s hands and in this note we set out potential options, including a refinancing, shareholder returns and capital investment,” said analysts.

“With the balance sheet and valuation potentially at an inflection point, we await the autumn investor day with interest.”

Beware, that previously managed restaurants that they qualify for are quickly moving towards a franchise model and will no longer accept them.

Devro PLC agreed to a takeover on Friday by food manufacturing company Saria SE & Co KG.

The sausage casing manufacturer, based near Glasgow, unanimously recommended Saria's offer of 316.10 pence per Devro share.

This will be Aviva declaring their current holding for the takeover as required.

Marston's have decided that the two for one brand is to be dropped at all their participating pubs. the brand had served its time and was slowly helping to push people to other outlets. A slow decline affecting staff moral. It was sad to see managers working so hard to keep faith with so many mountains to climb in recent years.

Last week my local Marston's restaurant introduced their new menu and hopefully a new beginning.

The menu has good clear choices, the specials board is gone which I would imagine is to reduce the costs and enhance the quality of the food served. There is now a much needed weekday lunch menu which is served until 4pm

We attended yesterday and had the main menu fish, no sorry, Atlantic Cod and chips and the difference in quality and presentation was there to see. At £11.50 each we thought it was a good price for such a nice meal. Followed by the Rock Road Sundae which was a very nice desert indeed at £4.75. (even better with the shareholder discount:)

The beer/lager served has always been very good and if you can find a better pint of San Miguel anywhere, I would be surprised.

The staff and new general manager and chef were on top of the game, with some nice touches and top notch niceness too.

Great to see and renewed hope for the future.

Pete640: agree, I think Aviva missed a good solid buy with Interactive Investor (ii). But in Amanda, we trust.

Marstons previously reported that the Brains estate were turning over 92% of 2019 figures between in May to the end of July this year. That figure mirrored Marstons.

Depends on the lockdown effect I suppose. 239 million in the coffers last year and 34 million last month or this as part of the brewery sale.
Could put down a big sum and still pay off some existing debt.

There needs to be a reward for loss of control of the brewey.

With Brains in the process of selling 99 of the pubs leased to Marstons, will Marstons take the opportunity to buy or have they already dismissed the idea?

90 million for the lot or 5.5 million a year and increasing for 25 years!

With Marstons now entrenched within the estate, an opinion must have been formed.

All I see is more people with positive thoughts than negative

I'm with the ii platform, received my SD on the 26th as expected. I reinvested it straight back into Tesco, rather than wait for the drip! I find ii are a very good reliable platform.
