On the eve of the Ashes Tests against the Aussies, the recent posters on here just reinforce the notion that we are just a bunch of whinging poms. Invest only what you can afford. Take some responsibility for investing in a high risk share ( clue: it's on AIM). The way some of you go on makes it sound that you had a gun held at your head when pressing the 'buy' button. Depends on when you invested as to whether this share has performed poorly for you or not. Get a life some of you. Some, like 4K, must stare at their screen 24/7. I presume you're retired - get out more! I'm happy that I will get a healthy return in 2 years time and if I don't- cest la vie! I'm intrigued by the 'important' announcement on Salinbas. May be a game changer. I hope so, if for no other reason to quieten down the whinging poms for at least 5.5 hours!

I think your title, Mrknowall, ring fences the pompous prat on this forum. Anybody who Writes such self glorifying posts, whilst being completely insensitive to the position of others and no doubt to the detriment of the SP, should feel ashamed. As for AAU, I got in at 0.8p and therefore don't see it to date as a poor investment AND see it as a good future wealth maker. I am in for the long term and posters like yourself wil not sway that opinion. It just annoys me that anybody new to the forum, considering investment in the company, may be dissuaded by your self satisfying negative baloney. I hope they ignore your rhetoric, research the facts and future potential and invest.

The silence from you since then has been deafening- until your reactionary post of 13.53 today. No evidence forthcoming yet. 4kandles: you really need to learn to respond to a fair counter-argument less vituperatively.You would gain more respect. I have no axe to grind and both you and tracylied are amongst the more knowledgeable and interesting contributors to this message board. It is obvious that the 'other cheerleader' you refer to was a fly- by - night wide boy and it is undermining your case when you throw in their contribution as in any way comparable to Tracylied's contributions. I'm sure you're intelligent enough to pick out the 'wheat from the chaff' posters.

In4cedros: proliferate away to your hearts content! I enjoy your upbeat analysis and your stoic stance against the detractors. I don't always agree with your unending optimism but you do often back it up with reason and act as a counterbalance to some of the posters who think Kerim is the biggest villain on this planet! NTTF: your constant whinging and pathetic whining is very tiresome. If your really think Kerim is such a bad person, then sell your shares and go and depress another board. I for one, whilst not happy with recent events, will continue to support Kerim and believe over the next 2 to 3 years the share price will at least double. Under current returns available elsewhere, that will do my pension very nicely!

CRB- agree with a lot of your comments and thanks for the Monevator blog tip. Of all the shares I own(ed), this was by far the most grown up and genuinely informative board I read and occasionally contributed to. I have had my fingers burnt for the 1st time with this investment and it certainly delays my retirement by a year or two! However, no use crying over spilt milk- onwards and upwards! My learnings etched into my computer desk: 1) don't invest in AIM 2) don't invest in Africa 3) don't invest in a company, however tempting it looks, that is essentially a 1-trick pony. One mine, one act of God (i.e. Flood) and a one way ticket to receivership. Very sad. GLA.

Well said Jaf. As somebody who I know has steadfastly supported the CEO through a lot of flak with good reasoned arguments and debate, your comments are particularly pertinent. I, like you, thought he had done a good job and steered the mine through to production only for terrible bad luck in the form of a once in a lifetime flood to occur. However, his anonymity and lack of any regard to his suffering shareholders , is a disgrace. My only caveat to this is if it turns out the stress and anxiety of everything has made him seriously ill- in which case I would withdraw my comment and wish him ATB.

I take no pleasure in writing this but my experience of seeing end of play RNS's leads me to say the recent pattern of procrastination and delay without any real news means tomorrow will almost certainly be the final curtain. I hope I'm wrong......

I've seen this pattern of wording of RNS's before. It's known as 'letting the shareholders down as gently as possible'. Sadly, this once exciting prospect is in its final death throws. It was always a risky play due to being a one trip pony. That trip is now landing at its final destination- receivership. I hope all investors who have lost money on this company have better fortunes elsewhere. We are always warned about the risks of buying shares, particularly on AIM and I hope no one has blown their whole savings. I agree Jaf. I have already taken the 'hit', both mentally and in my pocket and moved on trying to recoup with the rest of my portfolio. I expect nothing, so like you I hope and anything at all would be an upside. I have enjoyed over the years your sensible and regular contributions. I wish you well.
