I have bought ASX shares in Sandfire and Maca and done well through IG platform costs 10$ AUS to trade. surely if MTR was a good investment 1 month ago it is still now. so volkswagen now have secured their Nickel

Purely a guess but I see Tesla or Volkswagen or some serious EV player taking serious stake in major Nickel and Cobalt production. It must really screw up their forward business plans having immense volatility. They have ridiculous high market cap and securing key resources would be what I would do in their shoes. Maybe major shareholdingrather than takeover.
