jamesroo, well clearly we don't know the accuracy of the figures being quoted in the article for this quarter, my own doodling was along the lines of surely £1b for Lloyds, but I ended up thinking to myself, may as well pluck a figure out of mid-air, cos I'm playing at it. Let's hope the banking "experts" aren't playing at it eh?
Theosus, last weekend I was looking at Lloyds FY2019 impairment charge/bad debt provision, did a bit of doodling (like you do) and arrived at - impossible to calculate or even hazard a guess for the same, for this quarter - or the rest of 2020 - so will just wait for the bank to tell us. Only had a limited experience in retail finance, many moons ago, the knowledge garnered back then being totally inadequate for application to this great unknown.
Oxo, a link to your rights, in layman terms. Note the constitutional document is the Articles of Association, I extracted the relevant and posted it on here for you previously.

mick-b, and if you're in the right funds over the pond, you're at the very least winning if you don't want direct exposure - when you're spending your dosh.
just read back as connectivity was intermittent all day over here yesterday, missed your DM link on Saturday, usually scan the paper myself for headers of interest, missed it there too - oops, apologies. Did you get your flights refunded? Can see me having a fight over the Virgin Atlantic ones. 9 cancellations for April/May, accommodations, flights, car hire, parking. Last 2 refunded immediately, accommodations credits for down the line, VA??

taskmaster, as I said, I am sorry to hear about the loss of those close to you and I understand your anger as a result of all that is happening. We are all experiencing anger and anxiety as we feel helpless and we share the pain of all those suffering. Somehow, when the pain of grief has subsided, we all have to muster our strength and focus on all the positives out there. Even in the face of adversity we are all surrounded by kindness - the kindness of total strangers in a many cases. Total re-evaluation of what matters in ones life and focusing on that is the winning way. Helping whoever you are able in whatever way is good for personal well-being. All the errors that have been made in the mis-management of the C19 government strategy will be dealt with in due course - the stewards enquiry - how long will that last? On a positive note my dear 94 years old continues to fight and improve in her hospital bed. Keep calm taskmaster.
I'm sorry to hear that you have lost family and friends however please get your facts right taskmaster, I do live and I'm domiciled in the UK. Non-resident in Spain, as my filing will verify, and when our flight home was cancelled I did not consider it an emergency to try and secure a flight to get out of here go through 2 airports and come into contact with goodness who/what, with no testing in place. No reality checks needed for Oxo or myself as we both suffered the worst thing a parent can ever suffer ... cos we were supposed to go before they did. Here's some facts: 36 years old brother-in- law, our 24 years old son, 50 years old brother, friends 2 year old, 34 years old friend, father, mother-in-law, 2 uncles and more friends, all went in the space of a few years in my lot at the latter end of the 90's turn of this century. Experience of knowing how it feels aplenty and more than a few reality checks since then.
