From a posties perspective I would say no as there's no way they will make as much profit as last year but I also imagine more people will invest in the ft100 to reap dividends. This could well hit £6 by next month. I cashed most of mine at 5.40 thinking it wasn't going to go much higher.
Sold my free ones this morning at opening as I had a feeling same thing would happen as yesterday with the share price. Was hoping for 550 but 538 was good enough. I've kept a few that aren't tax free yet as it could still go higher! Who knows?
Monday and Tuesday have been fairly light but Wednesday onwards we are still getting loads coming through. Fingers crossed this hits 550 on results day. I think it also hinges on the future dividend plan as if its a stinker then it could be back to the 450 club.
No idea, could go either way. I did wonder if this price will keep rising slightly until ex dividend day. Then probably plummet somewhat unless they announce more future dividends with the results.
To be fair it's quite nice. Wouldn't want it manic all year round. Probably pick up when constant hot weather arrives, people buying for holidays, etc. Then once summers out the way, it's constant parcels again!!
Think we're already on a 38 hour week. 37 is the next one there aiming for.
We have been told we are going to 37 hours when they next do a revision which is due this summer for our office. I thought it was a national thing but maybe it's implemented differently.
I know quite alot are buying in my unit but most are over 40 years old.
One thing is for sure this share price loves the £5 mark at the mo. Yo yo up and down. Just hope it pushes up higher, would like to see if it will beat or get close to the 632 it reached a few years back.
Dunno, Could be April fools joke! Might go back up to 500 tomorrow. This share makes no sense at the moment. I can only imagine people are panic selling even though there will be dividends coming.
Wouldn't surprise me if people are panic selling all the fee ones. I'm still holding mine as I want to see full year results and hopefully a reinstated dividend.
Our boss said he's expecting 8000 test kits due to schools testing next week. That's a serious earner if this is going to be weekly and they are tracked 24hour.
Yes volumes very high this week. Plenty of letters and parcels, plus Mothers day soon so be ripe with cards and flowers!
Letters have been alot heavier last couple of weeks. Even the leaflets have picked up, 2 funeral director leaflets last week! Corona working it's magic!
I think with Spring/Summer on the way and possible holidays people will buying things for gardens, going away, etc.
Exactly, was looking at motley fool and they really don't seem to have a clue. They've said to hold or not buy most of the year. Like you say these shares could go anyway. Still hoping for good news on results day
It's literally only clothes shops that will possibly hit Royal Mail as most high streets are dead anyway. Can't see it making much difference as majority of people realise how easy it is to shop online.
I don't think this track and trace app helps! Have 22 people off isolating until Wednesday and Friday. (45 in total with annual leave and reg sick) There all fine yet getting full pay just because they downloaded an app. Best thing to do would get everyone jabbed ASAP then go back into shared vans. We would clear alot more work. I still think volumes will stay pretty much as is when lockdown is over as people have got used to how easy it is to order online. Think the share price going higher or lower will depend whether they announce a dividend as I know alot of people are waiting on this before dumping there shares.
We do have about 100 people in our delivery office so I think we're down to about 70 or less next week with annual leave included. I've always wanted to be out earning overtime so never had any intention of getting the app but obviously now people know its an easy way to get out of working alot.
Cheers Oli, nice to have some inside knowledge. Nobody in our unit seemed to know when we are getting the back pay. We had 13 go off isolating today due to getting texts from the 'very reliable' ?? track and trace app. Gonna be a tough week next week!
