Half a million pounds for a 15 year agreement? It will cost more than twice that every year just to administer it. These guys must be getting desperate!

All opinions are welcome here.
Aquired KCOM assets book value was less than £45M, Cityfibre paid more than double. The turnover is unlikely to explode as a lot of Cityfibres figures hypothetical, based on possible revenue (addressable properties, customers, etc, instead of actual connections, properties past etc,).
Another useless deal. Signing up with a couple of resellers does not guarantee revenue. It is based on hypothetical figures. It is very expensive to provide service to random businesses without an anchor contract with the Council. And I doubt if they will get any schools as suggested since they are all owned and controlled by the Council. Let’s see what emerges.
mcautious. Yet again your info is incorrect. Most of the previous so called Gigabit Cities are outside the reach of the acquired KCOM Network and are served by leasing backhaul from providers such as Level 3 Communications, and in some cases without diversity. Hope their customers are aware of this. Regarding the new towns/cities on the KCOM long haul infrastructure, CityFibre does not have any equipment at the locations as the KCOM deal did not include network switching, transmission, control and application elements for which the ownership has been retained by KCOM Group. CityFibre will go bust if it tries to equip all these locations. In contrast, Zayo has an extensive metro and long-haul fibre infrastructure around the UK, as well as transatlantic capabilities, connectivity onward to Europe and a diverse network infrastructure to Dublin, with a full suite of products. http://www.zayo.com/solutions/global-network/uk-ireland-network/
Foggy100, You have totally missed the Plot. n the UK, Angie's Partners are Zayo and Colt, not CityFibre. CityFibre was rejected.
Foggy100. You are again making false statements. It does not say anywhere on the Angie.ie site that CityFibre is a Partner. All those companies you listed are mentioned but it states that some of the Angie team members have had experience working for these companies, including Cityfibre and not that they are partners. Obviously, you did not do your homework very well.
mrcautious, Your info is incorrect, Zayo fiber optic infrastructure spans more than 3,000 miles and connects over 250 data centres and BT exchanges via exceptional network routes. The network spans from Glasgow to London and connects other cities and markets such as Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds and Edinburgh. Check this out: http://www.zayo.com/solutions/global-network/uk-ireland-network/ Whereas CityFibres acquired Network only spans between London, Bristol and no further than York and Harrogate. http://www.cityfibre.com/acquisition-update/
Mrcautious, CityFibre is not the only Dark Fibre provider, Zayo and Level3 also provide DF who have more and better networks with full Diversity. CityFibre also leases some backhaul capacity from Level 3. CityFibre has bought a KCom Network but so far the only customer on it is SSE on a short distance. KCom couldnt make it work, what makes you think CityFibre can? CityFibre is concentrating on Anchor Contracts which they can utilise to offer Gigabit service through resellers. But they wont be getting any more anchor contracts as Councils are becoming aware that other Telcos can provide Gigabit service at a more affordable price. Angie can provide an ultra Intelligent Wireless Gigabit service to public sector, businesses and residential customers a lot cheaper than Cityfibre. CityFibre is hardly getting any new customers and with just one customer on its dark fibre network, I can see cityfibres days limited. It will be wiped out.
Foggie100, You are either totally misinformed or ignorant, Where is CityFibre a Partner? Angie Communications is making Slough an ultra Intelligent wireless Gigabit City, first in the world and far superior to CityFibres Gigabit cities, some of which are without customers. Angie rejected CityFibre in Slough and are Partners with Zayo and Colt who have a better and more reliable dark fibre Network. Your claim of all the other Companies as partners all over the world is nonsense. Most of them dont even offer Dark Fibre. Give us example of where CityFibre is a Partner with Angie Communications.
World’s largest telecom start-up, Angie Communications is spending billions of pounds to build ‘Ultra-Intelligent Wireless Gigabit Cities’ and offering service at only £30 per month. It is also offering service to everyone including Residential Customers. You can take your Gigabit connection with you when you leave home. http://www.pressat.co.uk/releases/slough-uk-to-become-worlds-first-fully-functional-wireless-gigabit-and-smart-city-645facde5fa3772d8fd5d9619abe2cc4/#ixzz4DhojKvbX
Lester1967. A good observation. Nice one!
£7.0m new business is a hypothetical figure and not guaranteed. Just like Southend, it won’t be feasible for CityFibre to provide its own ‘Alternative Network’ on a Shoestring Budget and will have to rely on using BT’s ducts and poles. More revenue for BT. DYOR
