@Jwd222
I have personal doubts that the share price will reach £20 for a little while.
Just a nagging feeling.
@Moonman1977
Thanks mate. On a personal level I'm not selling out at a large loss here. It'll take a long time to recover and may dip further, but it's not like the bus operations are in trouble. I don't expect the other rail franchise to be renewed but I'm guessing folk are factoring that in.
So, as a novice, am I right in saying the franchises are about running things. Not ownership.
The buses they own those companies. I live in Brighton as, as far as I am aware, Go Ahead own Brighton & Hove Buses.
The franchises for rail I assume are different ?
@Moonman1977
The thing about the SFO seems to have just been added to the BBC article. Go-Ahead do need to issue further statements as shareholders will have concerns.
It is worrying, but I'm just going to leave it personally.
I think the Thameslink contract is up in March next year.
I think it will calm down. My average is 1179 and I was hovering over the sell button. Then I asked myself what I think the position will be in two years time and if I really need to do that. I've left it. It's a solid bus franchise and the ideas of 'fraud' seem a bit fanciful, even libelous. There have been no allegations of fraud made by the government, and they've been looking into this for some time. I wasn't expecting Govia to keep SouthEast anyway.
@CaneToad
I'm pretty sure that it comes under Govia and the they don't own the whole franchise. I think 65% with a French company.
I'm wondering, financial penalty aside, whether this franchise is that much of a loss.
Are you hoping for some positive stuff, Ella ?
Can't say it bothers me. It's AIM, folk get bored after 3 days.
A long term investor wouldn't be worried by that after the news we had. As soon as the price got stuck I thought there would be rollback.
Nay bother, I'd be more thinking about where it is in six months time after the news we have had.
My average is actually 5.88. Not panicking despite being underwater.
It'll be interesting to see how it settles today. We will lose some on the way as proper investors jump in.
It was 42% up then some big sells. Either way, it's heading north and avoiding stopping too long in the Midlands.
Anyone here an ARCM and UFO and Stagecoach holder ?
I've got Elkie Brooks 'Sunshine after the rain' playing in my head...
Same as always here. I think I have an investment that will simply sit and I'll wait for the lift off.
I expect the price to go up and then come down as usual. I'm confident that eventually the RNS will arrive that will push things on.
I read the RNS like Neil from the Young One's. 'Yeah man, it's all good, lots of really pleasing stuff, peace to the shareholders'. I thought 'Cool beans, Bill, don't worry dude, I'm not selling'
So am I right in saying that we should keep an eye on the NEX share price because if that is rising then ours is likely to rise too ? Given that, as it stands, we are linked at 0.36 of the share value. Trying to do the maths here.
My average at SGC is 96 but I'm wondering whether to hold on and not bail out if my losses are recovered.
Indeed @Happyhaddock.
And a further football analogy that all will understand is that I am very much a committed Brighton fan and am very pleased about their good start to the season. But it's early days and there is a long way to go, so I'm not predicting great things.
That said, they have a decent squad and a good manager. But I'll take it match by match and hope things have gone well when the season finishes next year.
I'm happy to have a season ticket and won't be giving it up.
So many parallels with UFO.
It's a thin air rise. It's one of the reasons I don't contribute to this board as often as I'd like to. Most folk are interesting but it's a struggle with so many folk acting like footie fans who think a couple of wins means they are going to lift the title and the others acting like supporters of their arch rivals who will try and undermine them at every opportunity.
So you can imagine what is like being a Brighton & Hove Albion fan right now and also knowing Crystal Palace fans too.
Nice to see (I've actually added today) but I wouldn't get excited. It's a thin air rise. We went up 8% a while back and dropped to where we were before.
What attracts me is the long term prospects, not a single day rise without merit.
@shareitwivme Folk are pooing their pants over the latest government rumblings
I'm still genuinely surprised that folk think that the posts in here make anything more than a tiny difference to the SP.
I've seen it full of ramping and the price goes down a lot (yesterday) and then come to Chris2 crew and up it goes !
Such an insane form of logic.
Anyway, I bought a load more yesterday.
I'm here for a long time, not a good time.
I'm underwater here. Average 5.95.
I'm holding and not taking a loss.. The de-rampers/non investors on this board have had the opposite affect.
There are some strange goings on. It seems that a group of people are trying to undermine the organisation.
Why would someone not invested come on here ? It's the same with UFO. Pretty good credentials long term but folk trying to put a dampener on it without any good reason.
