RE: So JLP and Leon propose5 Jun 2025 12:55
hi all
different views make a market, that's great. some investors are realists, some are pessimists, others are total optimists. you have to judge a deal or a company by past performances and competitors. it was interesting that spmeone said that sylvania has gone up considerably this year, i have just checked and since april they have gone up about 30%. so that is a rule of thumb that one could use. what has happenned to jlp since april when we were or are a diversified metals company. then we move to zambia which has been in anyones book an almighty 6 year **** up financially. so what some would think is that today you have sold the steady engine room and put all of your money (which you don't get in one go) on zambia. to me that makes the business model even more risky than it was before as we all thought and know that whatever happens we have a cash flow side of the business that will prop us up if and when needed. regarding the price that they are selling for, well 2 new units for chrome have just started producing which cost about $6m each so that is $12million. inyoni net assetts, well, i have not look into the latest book price in the last set of yearly figures but i would assume they are valued at about $50m, please don't quote me. then you have the stock of pgm's which leon has said is years and years worth, then you have the cash flow and the yearly profits that sa is creating. better people than me can look at this as accountants can always make figures meet and work.
again, to me, this is a terrible deal, not getting value from a mature assett that throws off cash, if this was not the case then why is slp going up 30% since april. you put all your eggs in one basket, a basket which is still not meeting the standards that the company has tried to set for 6 years, as everyone consistently says that there will still be bumps in the road. you are also limited to the timeline of cash that you are getting. basically the new owner of the sa business is buying the business mostly out of the cashflow that thebusiness creates. what about the value of the ip that sa have, it that is worth nothing then zambia ip is also worth nothing. i could go on and on about the real situation. the company is throwing the last dice on a system that is not proven and selling the baby with the bath water
