The Guardian are reporting today that the government have decided not to go ahead with implementing zonal electricity pricing. From what I have read on this topic, it is not clear to me (and beyond my expertise) whether this is good for Invinity or not. However, there is an interesting quote in the Guardian article that suggests a possible upside for Invinity:

"Officials are now focused on finding alternatives to zonal pricing which might encourage businesses and manufacturers to locate to electricity-rich parts of the country. They include paying battery storage companies to build major capacity in Scotland, or paying them to turn up their capacity on particularly windy days."

Several very bullish quotes from the brokers:

- On the cap and floor: "The market still hasn't got its head round it"

- "A lot of other good news flow coming"

- "Looks like we're heading to 100p"

- "another very important point", "once you've got government money, if you need working capital you just go to the bank and you'll get it", "I know there are a few people who are worried they don't have enough money to get all of this done.... yes they may need more money, but I don't think it will be equity"

- Don't forget the Indians are "clearly happy buyers" at 24p.

Just noticed this news was already posted in a previous thread, apologies (missed it as didn't want to read through the all the asinine replies to the original post).

Looks like there are finally some signs of progress from AffyXell. On the LinkedIn page (https://www.linkedin.com/company/affyxell-therapeutics-co-ltd/people/) there are two job postings: (i) Chief Scientific Officer; and (ii) Global Business Development and Alliance Management. It is all in Korean but I ran the postings through Google Translate and it appears that Affyxell is preparing to progress at least one of its assets to the clinic.

- The CSO ad says that "We are currently preparing for phase 1 clinical trials with the US FDA,".

- The BD ad says that Affyxell "has a pipeline of cell and gene therapy products in the Pre-IND and IND submission phases, and is building strategic partnerships with a number of overseas biotechs and research institutes."

Good to see progress here and perhaps the start of clinical trials could trigger milestone payments to Avacta.

Just looking through the slides from a Department for Energy Security and Net Zero presentation at the International Flow Battery forum yesterday, and noticed that on slide 6 it says interim awards for the cap & floor scheme will be granted in Q4 2025. Root Power have just announced they have submitted four bids with a combined storage capacity of 2.4GWh, all using “next gen” vanadium flow battery systems. They haven’t named the battery OEM and I can’t find any definitive link to Invinity, but this is yet another huge project to keep an eye on!

I subscribed and read the article. Couple of interesting quotes:

“I was able to have a sneak peek at some of the efforts to expand Invinity’s operations at Bathgate as demand increases, but there will be more detail on that in a few weeks’ time.”

“ Invinity’s VFBs are likely to have a huge role to play in the renewable energy transition, especially if zonal pricing is ever introduced – which we are set to hear more about in the coming months.”

I don’t know much about the Siemens relationship so not sure about that. Invinity would need quite a large amount of capital to scale up manufacturing for these grid scale projects. I wonder if at some point during the cap and floor process they can secure a loan from the UK Infrastructure Bank. This would be similar to how Eos Energy got a $300m loan from the US Department of Energy to scale up its manufacturing to 6GWh per year. Fingers crossed IES has a way to scale up its capacity, as demand doesn’t seem to be an issue!

PMC yes I think so, that’s the only way the £1.25 billion contract value estimate makes sense. Wondering how Invinity plan to scale up their manufacturing capacity to deliver such a project.

Does anyone know, if the last person in cohort 7 to receive their first dose received it in w/c 30 October, which week would be the earliest date the trial would end (e.g. would it be 6 weeks later, so next week, or would it be the week after?). Sorry if this has been discussed before but I can’t find an answer.
