I don't want to get my hopes up too much but the current CEO appears to be steering the AVIVA ship on a steady course.
Given the Ukrainian turmoil i think this stock is a safe steady long term bet.
The market reaction could be underwhelming (given the above) but I'm sticking with this one long term
£5 this year is a safe bet I'd say

Not a nice thing to say but any kind of protracted conflict in Ukraine will play in the military / defence stocks very nicely.
A 12% rise in the latter part of the week bodes very well i think

The events in Ukraine are pretty horrifying. Even when considering the complex and close history that the 2 countries share there appears to be no clear reason for invasion other than Hitler Mark 2 deciding he wants the soviet union back

And I don’t see how it’ll impact BOD negatively given the huge potential of the thorny river resource.
Drilling on TR will recommence in April if my memory serves me correctly?

I think it’s an excellent point you make. I tried suggesting a similar scenario on twitter yesterday and was shot down.
Since the DOID ‘deal’ was proposed the quality and size of the resource has increased significantly. So I think Tony will be thinking differently. And as you say doid may also be re-thinking their strategy.
A 3rd party bid or a full buy out cannot be discounted.
And I’d be delighted with 8p
