re new interest..6 Sep 2018 09:57
its difficult to call at this stage, other than, at this stage there is no way BHP can get hold of this cheaply.
If I decent offer comes in then I'm positive NM would accept with regards to Cascabel on its own.
I'm wondering if this may also affect the timing of revised estimate, possibly bringing it forward slightly, to see the hand of those who are genuinely interested in buying.
I dont think NM will have a problem raising more funds to take to feasibility, from where I am, Id prefer a sale of Cascabel before the end of the year, although I'm aware this may not happen.
Certainly things are warming up, its not unusual in these times for majors to get a piece of the action rather than full buy outs, but its also a distinct probability someone will want to have this resource for themselves, as they look ahead a decade for instance.
I for one cant call it, we will always be the last to know, but there are several other majors out there who could spark a bidding war.
What are peoples views on the relationship between Newcrest and BHP? Before yesterdays news it was looking more likely to me that SOLG and Newcrest would be taking it further themselves.
If BHP want copper in Ecuador then why wouldn't they make a bid for it, rather than holding just 6%, makes sense that they would want to increase this.
IMO
NM has stated a farm out is out of the question, so its either a bid/sparking other bids, or we take it further ourselves with Newcrest?
