the biggest mines in the world, they are usually JV's with 2 or 3 majors.
They don't usually only have a 14 percent interest.
As such I disagree that we will take this to production, regardless of what NM would like.
Watch this space.. there is no way the majors want another competitor in their midst.
2 billion or so for a couple of majors is not big bucks, and thats all they would need to get this from us, especially with our SP down here.
Nm is not getting any younger himself, this will still be his legacy whether we sell it or not. I'm sure he had the same strategy with the other sales/successes he has had in his career to date.
If no one want s it for a decent price of course he could take this all the way with help from BHP and NCM, I just don't think it will get that far down the line.
Its not like these quality tier 1 big assets are common, they are getting much rarer as time goes by, in 5 years who knows how high the copper price will be or how sought after they will be.
Bootstrapping with BN will bring the production time down at least a few years IMO
All the major articles written about SOLG seem to agree with this line of thought, who am I to think otherwise.
