RBD did a good job of securing AA carbon intensity rating for West Newton. It makes it the obvious easy choice to cut gas imports and switch supply over to West Newton instead as would reduce associated CO2 emissions by 75%. Impossible for the country to just stop using gas, certainly in the next 20 odd years so the most obvious way of getting towards net zero would be to do switches like this.

I see it as actually good for RBD.

The AA carbon rating for West Newton means the has here has less than one quarter of thr embodies carbon of the existing imported gas. So it's an obvious move to switch to using gas at west newton.

A director of LNE was gifted the shares. Exposure to the asset it gives him is trivial vs his current exposure via LNE so is just freeing up cash for investment purposes. Wonder if the cash is needed to develop the asset

Also id expect Reabold to increase their stake in the asset further via buying more from Rathlin given Rathlin cant cough up the cash it make sense RBD fund it by buying a share of it. win win

West Newton is a huge asset and Reabold hold a huge stake in it. The re-entry is going ahead this year and only costing £2m, this catalyst alone will see this 5x from here IMO as will bring a lot of hype and noise.

Downside is nada right now due to the cash position so essentially accumulate these levels and with a 6month timescale you have very good odds indeed.
