A major Abu Dhabi healthcare provider will partly fund a UK drug trial that could help diabetic patients with Covid-19 to fight off the virus.

Mubadala Healthcare – which includes Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Telemedicine Centre in its network – has pledged key investment to the approved tests of an immune-suppressant drug being carried out in the UK.

The trial, known as Arcadia, follows preclinical research suggesting a glucose kinase activator could help diabetes patients with Covid-19 by limiting the overactive response of the immune system that is typically acute in those patients with raised blood glucose levels.

Medical experts have consistently cautioned throughout the outbreak that Covid-19 poses a particularly high risk to those with diabetes.

Due Diligence Completed for Namibian Investment

Kazera Global plc, the AIM quoted investment company, is pleased to report that the Board have now been informed that the banking due diligence on the investment package totaling €9,130,000 announced in previous RNS's has now been successfully completed.

The Company is now awaiting final confirmation of the transfer of funds, at which point it will make a further announcement.
