Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
It is kind of hilarious…..
For weeks? Endless navel gazing about the flare, the plume, the satellite, the clouds, the droplets and reflections. The experts on the permits, the geology, the shale, the market, the Marcellus. The guy who always happens to be accidentally in the room, when EF Hutton from the Company, says something significant over a “pint”. With all of that not one comes with what actually happened here. Once again, a big nothing burger.
Your right on Mr. Greenlantern
Is that graph showing share price per acre vs phase around? Phases being something like exploration, proving, derisk, production.
Been in this 10+ years, Charlie Brown, Lucy, and the football.
Thanks
Where are we now on that graph?
Could someone please explain the milestones in a “farm down” process? Have we met any milestones at this point? And what are typical, inside, and outside timeframes for the process. Thank you. GLTA
Guernica,
I was a Nuclear Waste Engineer. In general you are exactly right. The chief benefit of nuclear power is the majority of the waste product is contained within the spent fuel. Unlike fossil fuel waste which is spewed into the environment.
But the amount of waste isn’t the point.
Logic and reason, never work against perennial critics who are in the business of stirring up anti-nuclear sentiment.
Again, it’s too easy and takes very little money or effort to stir up the public.
I’m LTH, GLTA
Coming from the Nuclear Industry, having dealt with activists, and an angry public.....
The idea that nuclear power is going to take off or that it will be in every home, village, factory, or wherever is utterly ridiculous.
No place to put the waste and more important it’s too easy for the activists to scare people.
Just sayin’
Suggestions to the reader:
Lookup the definitions of Pandemic and Endemic
Understand the difference between “case” and “health effect”.
Understand how a “case” is determined? And is the testing methodology valid?
Research and understand that the natural pattern of virus mutation is more contagious and less lethal.
Understand that we won’t get anywhere until the discussion shifts back from “cases” to “health effect” - the original metric when all of this began.
Good luck to all.
Hello Nerves,
I’ll try an answer by stringing together thoughts expressed by others here. I’m not an oil and gas expert....just a guy who listened to the wrong people about 10 years ago and bought 100k shares. My position is worth about half. I’ll hold though.
My expertise is engineering and IT project management in the government, military, and commercial sectors. It’s given me an understanding about people and how large organizations do things.
About all of this....
Great talent needs to be stimulated with exciting projects. The likely explanation is upon seeing the upcoming project plan - which appears to be stopping the project - the talent moved to where the action and money is.
And with the job postings it appears the team is understaffed.
Why is the project stopped? They didn’t get the big win. The well is a dud. The powers that be decided to close it up and wait. Waiting is to Origin’s advantage. This is business. Falcon is burning cash. Falcon keeps giving up chunks of ownership. Why not wait and get more?
Someone mentioned exploration companies tend to share knowledge and techniques. So why not wait, absorb more chunks of Falcon ownership, let the other companies figure it out, and leverage the knowledge they share - let the other company pay to figure it out.
In the mean time Origin focuses on their core business - someone on this board said Origin core is not exploration.
There appear to be no incentives for Origin or Falcon to do anything. Therefore, no news, no timeline, no milestones. The project stopped.
There is an incentive to put this project on hold, keep it in the back pocket, keep expenses low.
Then there’s politics - OZ politicians are beating each other up about COVID, vaccinations etc. etc. Seems like they have no problem shutting down a city or territory over a few cases.
Just one more reason to wait.

Yes, we live in a capitalistic dictatorship.
I’m an individualist, a realist, and an opportunist.
After the last German democratic government fell in 1932, the dictatorship that took over did three things: align with big business, take over the press, and silence the political opposition.
Our new progressive administration is aligned with Big Tech (the unions ran out of money), Big Tech controls information flow and the mass press are progressives, and social media and mass media pressure is silencing the opposition.
Political leaders via their families, the intelligentsia, sport figures take money from China.
And the Progressives are wasting no time, Mrs Warren, head of the Senate Finance Committee is working on the “Wealth Tax”.
There are no “Wall Streeters” in the Biden Administration, progressives are running the show: “Fed policies that effectively set a floor under stock prices -- have ceased to exist. Powell most likely will be replaced by a progressive Democrat when his term ends next year.”
It’s hard to imagine when the inevitable happens that Mr Biden, Mrs Harris, Mr Sanders, and Mrs Warren will be able to calm the markets and instill confidence. None have owned a business.
Cash is king.

Interesting
China is an opportunistic Communist Dictatorship.
Believable that they want to shakeup the market, keep it off balance, and suck up the supply.
Not for the stated reasons, save the environment, really? By 2060? China altruistic? It’s laughable.
No it’s to diminish it’s neighbors, Korea and Japan.
Why on earth anyone would take what China says at face value? A Communist Dictatorship.
