A few points I'd like to make:-
1. There is only one other antigen POC test that has been developed to my knowledge
2. Testing will increasingly be required for the best part of a year from now. When you are standing in the middle of a supermarket, shopping centre, office, school, airport, train station etc would you be more comfortable knowing that people have been tested and therefore can't spread the virus to you?
3. There is much more demand than supply of tests; even if there were 100 companies producing tests, there is enough of a market for everyone.
4. People are still in lockdown mode and will only feel safe if they know they and others around them have been tested. As lockdown is gradually lifted people will need to be tested.
All the best
Hi Global,
Genuinely pleased to see that you have joined/added to this share.
I cannot understand why people are linking the release of lockdown with a decreasing demand for testing. Whilst in lockdown, surely people will need less of the POC (self test) than they would whilst they gradually are allowed to come out more. Surely the demand for the POC test will be higher as people are coming out of lockdown.
Good comparisons there Steelwatch.
So you see, testing will not be going away any time soon. Rather the opposite.
Those who keep deramping this share, I can guarantee they would have no complaints if their work colleagues, family members, fellow travellers, fellow shoppers etc were to have a test to prove if they have the virus or not. This is human nature, who would want to be risking catching this virus if they could help it...
NCYT is up almost 10%. This bodes well for 'Covid-19 stock', and especially AVCT.
Also, bare in mind that NCYT's test was 'not accepted' by the French government.
You see, testing will be required from now until at least the end of Spring 2021. If you had booked yourself on a holiday, would you mind paying an extra '£10' to test if you do not have the virus before boarding a flight? Or more importantly, would you be more comfortable if your fellow travellers tested if they do not have it before you join the same flight, hotel, coach etc...?
Thanks for sharing this Canute. No, I had not seen this before...
Would be interesting to compare the SP behaviour of Sona Nanotech with AVCT.
People are overlooking the fact that tests will be required more so to aid the lifting of lockdown throughout the world. There is a much bigger world out there than the UK. This is why AVCT have partnered with Cytiva and have had strategic investors from America. In order to ascertain that someone does not have the virus these tests should be extremely useful and easy to administer.
The SP is shooting up, something feels leaky...
Hi All,
I've been reading intently the BB over the past few days. If I can add my take on things...
1. The antigen test strip is just as much a testament to the technology of Affimers as it is to a COVID-19 test. Therefore, if the strip is confirmed as successful, investors will have much more faith in the Affimers and its use with other product/project pipelines. The SP should then go up just based on this confirmation.
2. The SP only reached just over 200p, therefore, the gap back up from its current SP to over 200p is achievable.
3. There is still only just one antigen (do I have it) test, and yet it is not a POC test. Therefore, a POC antigen test is still very niche and very useful in many various scenarios.
4. There is much talk about COVID-19 not being an issue. The way to prove that is by having these tests done.
5. The tests will need to be used in tandem with lockdown restrictions being lifted.
All the best.

Good morning all,
My take on the SP drop over the past few day, and today, is quite simple (apart from the games of knowing/not knowing about the placing).
1. The protests recently have overshadowed the threat of COVID-19
2. Many non-essential shops are re-opening which have overshadowed the threat of COVID-19
3. Retail investors/traders have looked at the timescales spoken about by AS and maybe moved their money elsewhere until...
4. All stocks are down across the board even the FTSE100
However,
1. The antigen test is one of only one other (that we know of) which is being developed to test if a person has the disease.
2. Many investors, competitors, partners are waiting to see how effective the Affimer technology is. The two tests being developed will prove this.
3. The infection rates dropped because of lockdown. We are coming out of it now. COVID-19 has not suddenly become less infectious.
4. As there is no vaccine for COVID-19, it won't just go away. Therefore, in order to ensure the safety of others at home, workplace, places of worship, schools, colleges, care homes, airports, ports, train stations, bus stations, shopping centres, stores etc, testing will need to be/should be used.
Testing is what will be required.

Just a small correction. Pakistan are four hours ahead in the summer, and government departments usually work Monday to Friday, in line with their European counterparts. I have relatives in Pakistan, and will ask them to keep their ears and eyes our for any news before it gets to us.
Hi All,
I rarely message on the BB. The world has a population of over 7 billion. So people are thinking COVID19 is over? I would think again. Just because lockdown is easing in the UK (with a population of just over 66 million), do not for once think COVID19 is over.
1. The BAMS and POC test will be required globally, not just the UK - a potentially huge market
2. The government has announced today that they have shelved plans to close primary schools fully before the summer holidays - the fear and threat of COVID19 is still there.
3. Cinemas, restaurants, sporting events, in the UK and many around the world are still closed - only an antigen POC test can determine if a person is safe (for now) and cannot spread the virus. This is huge for travellers in airplanes, ferries, trains etc.
4. The testing market is big enough to cater for other COVID19 testing/neutralising/tracking/tracing companies.
IMO the need for continued testing globally is compelling. DYOR. GLA
@alwayswinning - in order to calm your nerves I would suggest glancing over the notes from Myles McNaulty. I would also look at why the placing bids were oversubscribed within a few hours. Further, there is an II that has invested, they would not do so without due diligence. Am I right to assume that it is taking as long for Cytiva with LFT test for Sona Nanotech?
