I'm a Guardian reader (although at times it's far too PC and over the top for me). But I also often take a look at the Telegraph, especially the fervent comments sections to see what the other side are saying.
So, I don't see any problem with reading posts from anyone on here who's taking a negative approach to Synairgen or its SP situation. In fact, in some cases they have been insightful - quite possibly to anyone here who's day-trading (not me).
Having said that, I'm not a fan of anyone, no matter what their view on Synairgen or it's SP at any moment in time, who's abusive, arrogant or out to show off with their gains or approach, whether real or imaginary.
Let's make sure this BB doesn't become an echo-chamber, let's look at contrarian views and then make our own judgements. Let's be grown-up about other people's views that might differ from our own and most importantly, let's cut out the abuse, arrogance and showing-off.

Just looked at yesterday's video again. And I'm no body language expert, but I counted at least 4 or 5 confident smirks from RM. At: 4.56, 5.27, 5.35, 6.43 and 7.30.
Read into it whatever you think...

I'm in this for the long-haul. It doesn't matter right now whether the SP is 190 or 250. What matters is what it'll be when there's a TO or licence agreement. Unless of course you fancy a cheeky top-up today, then the current SP looks good !

At around 5.31 his grin looks like it's trying to hide a very big smile !

Here are the only things I can think of as to why Synairgen SP wouldn't fly shortly. Anything missing?
- If the second / third phase Covid trials aren't conclusive or are delayed
- If another (better) therapeutic comes along that we didn't know about
- if there's another competitor that can deliver interferons, easily to the lungs
- If there's a problem with getting it to market quickly

As an aside I think:
- Vaccines won't be widely available til 2021, may not be that effective and may need therapeutics to work in conjunction with them.
- COPD, if it comes off is a bonus for the short-term and a big potential for the long-term

So to me, for the short-term, this is about banking on whether the 2nd/3rd phase trial is a success and comes up soon. Almost everything else is a bit of a distraction.

Chrishar, I made my final top-up on Friday at around 2.00 SP. I wanted to wait a bit to try to catch it a tad lower, but in the grand scheme of things if this takes off, I don't think it will make that much difference!

Why is SP sticking to around 200 ? All sorts of reasons I guess. Just thought I'd throw this out there...

I spoke with a consultant radiologist at a big NHS hospital a few months ago about Covid. Their view was that there probably won't be a vaccine and the answer is to find drugs / therapeutics that can solve the problem - as has been the case with HIV (albeit HIV is of course a completely different type of virus that doesn't get eliminated from the body). I spoke with them again recently and they hadn't heard of Synairgen! Shows you what a best kept secret it is!

Agree. I posted a few day ago that this government has huge potential for 'soft power' gains across the world. If Synairgen's trials are successful, they could buy the company for a couple of Billion and then gift the product out to the world. Imagine the kudos for the UK, and the boost in its global image. Just at a time when there are some tricky trade deals to sort out in the next few months too!

I think it'll stick around 200-210 until something big happens E.g: RNS
Although it could go higher if more investors recognise the potential gold-mine we're sitting on.
I don't see any reason why it should drop before an RNS - no short-term strong competition (e.g: a vaccine that works and is available now). And I don't see why anyone should be spooked to sell as soon as the SP drops a bit below 200 - although some clearly are.

I use HL. Put most of mine into an ISA , to avoid having to pay Capital Gains Tax if the shares take off. HL have ISA option on their platform (along with SIPP and Fund and Share account), BUT... they don't let you transfer from Fund and Share account to ISA Account - I learnt that the hard way! Ih ad to buy shares in ISA account and then sell from F and S account).

There are a few people on here who are claiming that SNG is over-priced and that they've cashed in their chips. One factor I think that has led to this is the behavioural science / psychology principle of 'Anchoring'. They see the share price as excessive at £2.00, because they are comparing it to the 'anchored' price of 5 or 8p from earlier in the year. If, instead they looked at the company value of c. £300m and compared it with the value of other companies that have created break-through drugs, or even the value of a therapeutic that could help solve the Covid-19 crisis for millions of people (let alone COPD) they might see it as a bargain. It depends on what figure you're 'anchoring' the share price on.

Surely RNS this weekend? Gives a few days for news of any success to spread in national / global media. It's what I would do.

Agree. Last announcement was over a weekend. Could happen again. Good for wide, global news coverage too.

Imagine the huge amount of global soft power this government could have if it bought out a successful Synairgen and then gave out its therapeutic to the rest of the world. In comparison its foreign aid budget (a big source of soft power) is £13Billion this year. So a couple of Billion to buy out Synairgen would be a bargain for them long-term! Johnson are you listening?!

Totally agree. And wouldn't necessarily recommend to others. My view was balancing out the risk. It could be a dud, including COPD and the drop to 35 or even 5. Or it could go up 10 times.
