Pumpky I was indeed, many years ago and I don't mind confessing that I lost a big packet of money on those devious crooks!
That is why I suggest people are sensible about what they do.
Since then I bought big chunks of RKH which as you will recall did really well, then went over to longer term investments in predominantly FTSE shares that gave good dividends, tripled the value of my capital in UK builders which I sold as this fall started.
That is all history, if we could go back and trade all the mistakes we made differently we would all be very rich.

Hawker, fair comment, you'll notice that I'm neither ramping or deramping here though, not so sure everyone can say that?
I don't care if people take note of what I say, it is just a reflection of my own experiences of many years trading. It has worked for me and I'd like it to work for others, it won't if they don't adopt a strategy.
I actually don't eve care if rude people such as yourself try to make out that I have a hidden agenda. It is up to all the forum readers to decide who is trying to persuade them to go one way or the other.

I know you are out there reading all of this and that relatively few of you actually ever post.
We were all new to this at one point in time, some have done well, others will be serial big losers. That is how it works.
Just be careful what you listen to, don't get carried away with the excitement as that is exactly what some of these posters are encouraging you to do. Big SP rises are great if you get in and out at the right times, picking those is what it is all about.
People are actually paid to do this ramping so again, just be careful out there!
Companies with relatively small numbers of shares in circulation are ideal for this, the rampers appear like sharks smelling a wounded mackerel. Don't end up being that mackerel!!

Don't fall in love with any share, remember always that you are only buying it to make a profit. If you are doing it for any other reason then make sure you have a whole bunch of cheap shirts handy as you are going to need them!!
During this crisis some will rise all the way from pennies to pounds but don't get into the way of thinking that all will do that, some will get pumped and dumped like crazy.

Depends how people set up their portfolios and whether they are trading for serious long term profits, I've balanced mine so most is in the SIPP which I now only trade FTSE shares for longer term growth and dividends and my ISA accounts that are used for the odd ten grand punt here and there for short to mid term gains.

Well worth maxing out the share dealing ISA account each year as all profits are tax free, I hardly use my normal trading account these days.

Each to their own way of doing things but I reckon a bit of self discipline makes a hell of a lot of difference for longer term profitability.

OK for a bit of pin money but then take profits and go into something with more scope.

Profit taking is good, it moves the share on to the next level. Tell me which one of you doesn't plan to sell at a profit at some point.

Where you enter and where you think the price is about as high as it is going to get determines all of that but ultimately we are all going to sell!!

Anyone who managed to get these a few days ago could well be happy to sell on a big profit and move to something less risky.

Only downside is trying to buy serious volume, then trying to sell it once it is in profit.

Really good for a fun ride but do be careful of setting sell orders that could get executed at below the price you wanted.

Auctions are great fun too , as long as you come out the right side.

Love to see this sort of action, this is a very lively sector. Some fantastic money to be made by the canny folks, plenty will be losing their shirts along the way.

Might have £20k if it drops back to 10p, I think a lot have taken great profits and gone across to more solid shares such as Novacyt

Put £50k sipp money in here this morning, could well see a double dip at some point but the banks are generally lagging everything else at the moment.

Who would have thought the FTSE would be back at 6,000 already!

Parkez......Absolutely my own thoughts on this; herd immunity is the goal but results are not proving too positive that it is a once only infection potentially. I believe we have a good way to go before we really see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Years back I bought Rockhopper shares for pence, they went up and down a bit on various bits of news so i just held the position until the big boom when they struck oil, sold up and bought a big house in a nice village with a garden and paddock backing onto open countryside. Several other people I knew in the same share became millionaires.

If you ain't got the patience just go and lose all your cash at the poker table, gets it all done and dusted quick as you like.

Nothing boring here, unless you sit watching it all day. Always easy to say wish I had done this or done that in hindsight, if you took your stake out now where would you put it, by your own admission you would "never have guessed HEMO"

Great way to minimise your profits is to keep chopping around in and out of one thing after another.

All IMHO of course, I'm only in the markets to make money.

I think the content of some of the posting today has been a bit leery even for this forum.
Wild guesses at what the company might be worth when one scenario or another pans out, savage attacks on the derampers and naysayers.

The price is what it is, based on what the market preceives it to be, the market will always determine the price, irrespective of the rampers and derampers who are only really "noise" when push comes to shove.

All you need to do is decide what you consider to be a reasonable entry level, have an idea of what price you are looking for the share to reach before you cash in, a stop position in case it tanks and in between read relevant info and react to that accordingly.

Don't have unrealistic expectations or you will always be disappointed. Don't try to jump in and out on spikes and dips as invariably you will end up losing more than you gain. Think of it a bit like the moron on the motorway who cuts across the lanes endangering everybody but 5 miles further on you see him stuck in the lane next to you having got nowhere faster than you did.

If I bought at £2.97 where should I set my sell at?
So much conflicting advice here, must confuse the hell out of anyone daft enough to take notice of it rather than doing proper research and understanding how it all works.
Must be some market makers either here or employing people to post on sites like this. :)
