good explanation intrepid for the inter MM trades. I understand the rationale for determining whether a trade is a buy or a sell and how it is then reported but it is very archaic and removing this idiosyncrasy seems to me pretty simple. The MM's mark a trade as a buy or a sell. Ah but then we would get a true picture of what is going on and we can't have that can we.

just browsing the LSE trade data before hacking up the local course I see someone sold 500k @ 7.56 am yesterday for 106p and another 300k sell for 105.88 @ 7.58am. Odd considering the news.
