by my quick calcs the volume traded since the 130m placing on 13th July is about 170m give or take. Some of this went into sticky hands so we should have churned through the balance by now or as near as which means any decent news should free up the SP.

oh one last point MM's can be short you know so may run a deficit for a period of time. I am not one for conspiracy theories so will leave it there. Let's hope we all make loads of dosh here.

i couldn't sell more than 50,000 all afternoon so i disagree with your statement regarding there is no problem selling. What you are suggesting doesn't make sense because you are suggesting that trades are not being declared...at least i think you are. As for TR1's being late, that happens far too often for my liking and I put it down to sloppy admin on the part of the holder.
Nothing you have posted suggests to me someone is accumulating, if they were they cant be accumulating very much, I have almost as many shares as were traded today .
That said I do agree with your statement regarding newsflow...the sooner the better.

Max you keep saying someone is accumulating...the evidence does not support this...whilst you may think this is the case it is only your opinion unless of course unless you have something more concrete to share. Volumes are very low.

i think the issue with trying to analyse trading action is muddied due to the lack of transparency making it almost impossible to have a definitive picture of what is happening. Very unlikely for a MM to be left holding the baby that's for us PI's unfortunately. However if they are short they can remedy the problem pretty quickly as long as the share is liquid which SOLG is.
I was in BMN for a few years and one of the posters on that board was doing a daily analysis of trades over a fairly long period but it got to the point that their calculations led them to believe that the MM's were short of 20m or 30m shares but it was never resolved. It all got a bit out of hand and they stopped publishing the analysis but some PI's were taking it as gospel which it clearly wasn't.
My take on things generally is fairly simple these days otherwise you can go round and round in circles trying to work out what is happening.

@RK the MM's make their money on the spread so the more trades the better for them. Bear in mind this is not MM driven stock just have a look at how may A trades there are. A trades are placed by broking houses, hedge funds, investment banks, any large trading org, and PI's with DMA. The spread is pretty tight so the software LSE and others use doesn't always calculate the ratio of buys to sells correctly as it depends on the mid-price. Also A trades can be placed at whatever level the trader wants which can make the calculation even harder.

exactly...that's their third id in a week....people need to get a grip some are clutching at straws

the only people not underwater here are those that took part in the placing however if the spread narrowed to something reasonable most of your current paper loss, and mine, would be regained. I like the fact we are UTR but hopefully not for too much longer.

also worth bearing in mind it isn't just MM's in the mix i don't know what the % of A trades are but a cursory glance suggests they could be 40/50% so if you have DMA you can add your buy/sell to the order book at whatever price you like

quite often its a case of cleaning up the order book as trades are often split which results in odd small numbers finalising the trade.
