“ SolGold (LON: SOLG) said on Wednesday it is making headway with the potential sale of its flagship Cascabel copper-gold project in Ecuador, as it has held talks with more than 20 “highly credible” interested groups.

The company, which merged last year with Cornerstone Capital Resources to consolidate 100% ownership of Cascabel, said that at least five potential suitors have already completed site visits. It added there were a number of follow-up visits being scheduled.

“External groups evaluating the project are being very diligent in their review as they progress through various stages in their internal processes,” chief executive Scott Caldwell said in the statement.

“In parallel, we continue to advance and de-risk Cascabel to position it as a turnkey asset,” he said

Was on a flight recently and my wife was charged £40 surcharge because her bag was 2kg over ( mine was 5kg under but made no difference) the woman next to us was at least 50kg heavier than my wife yet that’s ok ??

Add ….. NM has, either personally or via various holdings just shy of 300m shares (“I have 297m reasons to realise shareholder value “) so now under 10%. This is still a decent chunk but he’s been diluted the same as BHP etc. He could well be unseated this time round and then I guess we will be fully “Canadianised”.

Whether this turns out to be a good or bad thing who knows.

We seem to be on a set path to get all required approvals, produce the new PFS and get Cascabel ( and probably the lot ) sold.

As for why no one is making a low ball bid whilst we are floundering at 8p I believe it’s simply because everyone knows it wouldn’t be accepted.

Scott taking a very basic wage but fully incentivised to get this sold for a decent whack ….. I think he will we just need to remain patient.

DG agree with most and I’m fairly certain a JV is the last thing the board or any potential investor would really want.

I’m confident we’ll get there in the end and the only question for me is whether we hold on to a couple of the other licenses or get shot of the lot. I guess that depends on whether the bidder wants them and is willing to pay for them.

Just need to get through the next couple of months, keep ticking boxes along the way and stay patient
