The biggest plus of living up north is the quality of life.

Thirty-five years living in London left to work in Leeds with trepidation. House sale proceeds in London would have bought three nice houses in this area. Houses that I would not have been to expensive to buy in the south. I only bought one of course.

Thirty years now in Yorkshire, I am a Yorkshireman. At least in my eyes. Have enjoyed a quality of life that would have been impossible in the south on my salary, have discovered a world where people talk to each other and made dozens of friends.

Nothing, no incentive or promise of fortune or fame would take me back to London.
