My take on Scancell’s iSCIB1+ strategy: they’ll likely run the randomized Phase 2 mainly in the UK through the NHS CVLP, with sites in Australia and the Netherlands. That approach makes sense because it speeds up recruitment, keeps costs down, and Australia also offers attractive R&D tax incentives for trials. The FDA’s cautious stance on cancer vaccines means there’s little value in getting stuck in US regulatory hurdles at this stage. Better to de-risk in friendlier jurisdictions and then bring in a big pharma partner to fund Phase 3 and handle the US later.

With Scancell spinning off Glymab Therapeutics, could Genmab and Scancell renegotiate their deal to provide more upfront cash for Scancell? In exchange, Genmab might get better terms, like reduced future milestones or expanded rights. It’s a win-win: Scancell gets immediate funding and Genmab strengthens its partnership and pipeline.
