Am I reading this correctly? Combining the comments from your post of Friday 17th December @ 12:51 and your post of Wednesday 22nd December @ 15:11 you're telling me that your strategy is to find stocks in the FTSE 100 that are also primed to be ten baggers? I'm no expert but I'm thinking that's a pretty tall order is it not?

Wondering if anyone can shed light on this for me place. I received a dividend from DEC but with a 15% U.S. withholding tax deducted. I assumed such taxes only applied to companies listed in US. This company is listed on LSE so why would it’s dividend be subject to American taxes?

M - I hope your son makes a speedy recovery. It seems it is pretty mild for the majority so lets hope that's the case for him.
T - I share your optimism and expect the New Year to bring stronger markets as we put the pandemic and the medias panicdemic behind us.

Seeing some green shoots this morning. I'm not brave enough to trade in foreign markets as I just don't understand what is going on well enough, so I admire those of you venturing into Japan and wish you luck with it. As a novice I'm going to confine myself to British markets for better or worse.

On a side note, the Christmas wine order has arrived and it falls on me to ensure that it is to standard for the big day. A few unusual grapes in the mix so I have my work cut out. Wish me luck!

O - lack of patience appears to be my affliction also. In the last month I have found myself out of N91 too early (sold 251 now 270 ), out of BIDS too early (0.0295 now 0.0385), out of DOM too early (sold 415 now 430) and Nichols (1335 now 1410). I console myself that too early is better than too late but I just get over-excited when I see green figures. Sat in the office this morning as I have to pay for my trading weakness, so weekend working it is. Just a half day so shouldn't grumble. Next week I am going with everything I have into UFO which I think will start producing revenue in 2022. I like their business model and the management give me a lot of confidence. Have a great weekend all and hopefully we will see a Santa rally starting next week.

T - I am following ASC also. Definitely a company with great potential but they seem to have forgotten their parachute. Will buy in if ever they hit a floor.

Succession is absolutely fantastic! I binge-watched series 1 and 2 and just can't get enough of it. Virtually everything in the red for me this week. I think it's Karma as I have just finished my first full year trading and was congratulating myself at being up 13.7% I rather suspect in the past year you could have been up that much if your strategy was companies on a dartboard but it still beats having it sat in the bank. How have you more seasoned traders found this past year?

Morning all. Damp, dark and cold here today. Frustrated to find my ABF remains firmly in the red despite encouraging news regarding Primark tills ringing. Thinking about dipping my toe in the cider with CCR today as I think they are rock bottom price today (famous last words) and surely the festive season will see a jump in sales of Bulmers, Magners and Tennents whether we party at home or go out out. Frosty and freezing day here in the North east of Scotland. T- just as you stated about the short positions. Doesn't help my planning much but I suppose it keeps the ride exciting. PF up quite a bit today so hopefully some gains for us all this week.

Wonder if anyone can shed light on short positions for me please. I hold DOM which has 4.1% active shorts. Is there any way I can find out when those shorts expire?

I've been lurking on this thread for a wee while so I thought I'd say hi. As a brand new trader I have taken a lot of confidence from the postings here - helping to convince me I am not completely mad, or at least not completely alone! Made my first decent gains yesterday with Liontrust. Sold out yesterday and back in this morning for another couple of percentage gains. Having a lot of fun despite not making much money. Thank you to all here for sharing as you do.
