I think if it was a monster Newmont would not let it slip through its fingers I'm not downplaying it but they must have been privy to the knowledge that Shaun had.

Probably did pay stamp duty but I was trading it for small profits regularly till the last trade that went against me and had to hold it for many years until it recovered. The dividends were great.

Got to remember glencore was formerly xstrata a British miner before being merged with the Swiss company I can't remember whether I paid stamp duty as I held it before the merger. Might explain the confusion.
