Angus Energy must inform West Sussex County Council at least seven days before the flow test starts. But DrillOrDrop understands that the council is not required to tell local people.
Welcome back. It was not clear to me that all the eyes were invested in Angus.
No critique intended. I Too am invested in both. Just curious to see so much coverage of Angus there is from the eyes, who are normally glued to the screen at Horsehill. No doubt they have their reasons. I am not complaining.

From the BFTCLG liaison group "We are waiting on regulators, we would like to be set up and start in September. There are many work streams that come together at the same time and they all come together very quickly." Paul Vonks
Pizzaman was played....As far as I am concerned that sums it all up. onwards and upwards now.
The only news now is real news. The real news will be coming sooner than we think. DL think so and I believe the Angus Board believe so. Balcombe can be summed up as follows :
1.19 times more exposure than at Horse Hill who observed 901bopd from only 88ft.
2. "The existing oil well is ready to simply be turned on, similar to turning on a faucet".....
It does seem strange that Angus seem to be updating FFBRA but not updating private investors in similar real time. Is it part of the commitment to the community liaison group?
from frackfree balcombe "We have received notice via Balcombe Parish Council that “today Wednesday 12 September Mid Sussex District Council informed Balcombe Parish Council that the planning conditions for Lower Stumble Flow Testing were discharged by Angus Energy on Monday 10 September, and at that time they gave West Sussex County Council 7 day’s notice that the work to flow test would commence on either Monday 17 September or Tuesday 18 September."
from angus website : There will be no ‘rigs’ utilised for the purposes of the actual test or on site.
Stories of financing spouted by bmd "absolute bollocks". Agreed. a smoke screen to allow others to get in low.
The field is positioned in a prime central location of the Weald Basin, where buried rock intervals are at their thickest, and oil source rock intervals at their most mature. Balcombe – 2 and its associated side track Balcombe – 2Z were drilled to a vertical depth of 2,200 ft, and horizontally to a length of some 1,714 ft through the upper Kimmeridge Micrite.
The Balcombe Discovery is considered to be in the ‘sweet spot’ of the Weald Basin given the 568m thickness and highest maturity of the Kimmeridge layers.

Is the official start not Monday ? Up until now it is setting up support equipment etc and then the official "turning on the faucet...".It looks like there is a lot of interest in Balcombe from unexpected quarters.
Does anyone know what the volume of the new green storage tank is ?
