Quick question Speedy…or anyone else really…

I have a modest holding in GGP.

It’s been on my mind for a while, but would you advocate selling half of my holding to buy more Brits, or should I stick with my roughly 50-50 split between both.

Your opinions as always are appreciated…

I agree entirely Tom.

I always try to look at the most extreme extrapolations when things like this are being banded about. All I’m saying is that it could happen. I hope to Christ it doesn’t, but this, and previous governments, are so tax hungry, they need the revenue to support their ludicrous policies, and unfortunately we no longer have the gold reserves to revalue our way out of it. Without drastically reducing public spending, how are they gonna pay for all this?

There’re even discussions about taking away CGT relief on primary residences. Another hypothetical I appreciate, but can you imagine!!

They seem to manage collecting CGT in all other areas just fine Spireite. I think if they do go down that road, they’ll go for the lot.

I may be wrong, but I assumed from “Windfall Tax” a similar scenario to BP and other oil producers, where the product is taxed at source…
