I’ve been watching everything like a hawk since 7am D-G!

.... though in a different company sector to EVE as there mattresses can by £3500 odd quid. They do a lovely bedroom chair range but £1000 +. So quite a high end company?

Looking on B&W website I see they do rugs ( nice addition to a bedroom) also cushions and throws - all perfect bedroom additions.
Seems like they are quite a good company.

Wonder do Brooke and Wilde make a profit?
But perhaps it’s only a few staff and working out of cheaper premises?

It’s interesting despite cost of living crises, pandemic etc etc that DFS still able to report profits and even slightly higher than forecast! I like how they don’t slash the EVE lines they have by more than 10 or 15 % ( no 40 to 50% discounts there) despite the competition! If EVE would run profitable it would make a big difference here!

Is possibly someone has been checking and asking all the bigger shareholders to ensure they have their 8.3 forms in - sort of making sure all the ducks have been lined up now prior to any proper FSP announcement to ensure there are no difficulties with disclosures prior to The News?

And the 6 million odd shares they have purchased are shares sold at a loss by the previous owners of said shares!

They may see a way to quickly bring EVE into profitability and also to scale the main products into new markets?

I’m not sure an investor would trust the current board with spending as they spent down from 8.3 million to 4.5 million cash reserves in 2021!

.. in fact the whole FSP May be exactly due to a DFS takeover ( as the FSP would have prevented DFS or anyone just buying I the cheap shares to become majority shareholder) and so it leaves EVE bod able to negotiate on the terms for themselves and also a suitable SP level so it could be put to current shareholders!

My guess is due to because DFS have exact form for this type of takeover. Try out the products via DFS site. DFS could possibly benefit from the previous loses of EVE via tax loopholes. DFS would immediately become not only their own mattress seller ( and Which awarded mattresses) but manufacturer as well. DFS could easily get rid of EVE management ( though they have form in retaining the business they acquire in their present form) and DFS have a delivery network in place already. DFS May be able to introduce new products such as complete bedroom furniture via EVE and due to previous EVE losses avoid taxes. I just see EVE as a good fit for DFS. Just my best guess. But you may be right Vern.

I will start off with DFS as I think they highly likely to make an offer!

Why would a new company not turn it around soon?

Plus EVE are sitting with circa 7 million plus assets and then there is the potential loss tax right offs available and with over 50% gross profit margin one would think a good business person would have EVE running profitable

If any news is thought to have leaked out we may either have an RNS before 8am Monday morning with something more tangible newswise or have a suspension in share trading here! Time will tell.

Yes EVE have previously mentioned acquisition of a smaller company so perhaps a tie up with a similar sized entity may work just as well. Good point.

Remember to ask your broker or share dealing house (eg AJ Bell, HL etc in plenty of time) to ensure you will be in a position to vote if any deal is suggested by the EVE board. SP Will need to be 10p area for me to agree.

D-G, I think you know French better than anyone here. Can you look at the EVE French website pages and check if it actually says anything relating to Belgians can buy EVE products via the French EVE website? Or is there any EVE Belgian webpages ( but I cannot find any).

Perhaps ( EVE always said comparable yoy not possible until beginning of May 2022 - so why did they highlight yoy comparable in TU? And not compare to two years as they have always done till now I.e. up approximately 7% on 2020). EVE can pull something out of the bag? Current trading seems a lot better with TP reviews numbers increasing faster ( though several unaddressed as yet bad reviews of late) so it would be nice to hear comparable May & June 2022 to 2021! Last year the cash in the back increased 300k a month over the summer period!
With the FSP and a news blackout we have no idea how EVE is doing!
