thanks for prompting me to look back at the company's reports!!! I have been concerned about the falling price over the last weeks and been trying to decide if I should ditch the share.

your post seems to indicate the reason why the market has lost confidence in the company as it's own targets are in danger of not being met.

another poster had said there is due to be transformational news. if he/she knows that why do we not know?

the share price is now so low that decisions cannot hold off.

good point about the absence of Board members buying shares. why should shareholders maintain their confidence in the company when those with detailed knowledge apparently do not?

Since the comparison with Cairn Energy has come up on this thread, it would appear that Cairn team is doing a better job at attracting institutional investors:

There are 10 institutional investors and they are also bragging about the depth of such investor base on their website.

Compare with Enq top investor list where there are fewer institutional investors that hold lesser stakes:

Blackrock, for a start, owns more than 10% of Cairn that has around £1bn market cap and 3% or so in Enquest that has a market cap of £330mln.

It is no wonder that Enq is underrated by the markets. I think it is not only the pile of debt which at the end of the day is becoming more and more manageable. Hopefully, Enquest team and AB have not underestimated the task of luring main institutionals to the share.

Also woth comparing the charts of the two companies in the last week or so since they both have had very successful results. Cairn share price took off. One can't say the same about ENQ.

I have been around with Enq since before the heady days of 43/44!!! In and out as makes sense. However, my post relates to the current time period and the particular, apparently determined, undervalue in the context of the company's presentation, the results, and the wisdom expressed over the last few days.

Further to the discussion and analysis over the last ten days, I am wondering if it is time to accept that my faith in this share has come to an end. Everyone seems to agree that there is substantial value in this share that the market is not willing to recognise, and while waiting can be a reasonable strategy, I am not seeing movement at a level that maintains a justification for continuing to do so. Let's remember that the placing was at 21, a value that management must have deemed worthy; but since that time it has lurked below, and sometimes substantially below.

The big issue for me now is the opportunity cost of holding this share, when my money may be put to better use elsewhere. Can anyone convince me that I am wrong.
