Leathal,I have downloaded the "Telegram" app onto my phone. I am unsure of protocol but do you need my login name?
Again AveryB if you don't want to read my posts either then you can filter me out too just as have done with Mr Weed and am about to do with you. The conversations that I,Mitm,LW,Leathal,Troajan & others are having are none of your business quite frankly and, indeed if you & Mr Weed aren't in fact the same poster using different logins you can start your own little ramping thread and cheerlead for the ramping cause all you like. You are not the moderator on this board so who posts here is not up to you. Does that make things nice and clear AveryB,Mr weed whatever you want to call yourself!
Mitm,LW,Leathal,Troajan etc,
Hornygoatweed is EXACTLY the kind of ramper I have fought against and will continue to do so as there are all too many inexperienced traders/investors that have been fooled into piling into Oriole at the wrong time with either the wrong strategy or no strategy at all other than to "buy & hold" which has been proven over the last 6 months to be the wrong way to trade the company. Some people need to learn when to listen and when to speak and if you are going to speak and are not sure have the decency to say so!
Leathal,I have downloaded "telegram" and am waiting for a code to be sent to my phone - we WILL overcome the complexities of modern day e-communication or die trying!
Mr Weed, why don't you just filter me out if you don't want to read my posts instead of being an idiot? It's rampers like you that have clogged up this board for quite a while now but, thankfully we are now seeing people post with more freedom because trolls with an agenda like you have been shown up for the dishonest fools that you are! People taking your advice over the last 6 months are a bloody site poorer now than they were! Does THAT answer your question,Mr Weed?
Leathal,No I don't use telegram but I will now set up an account. Is it possible to post email addresses securely on that?
Leathal, sorry about the delay I was getting in a quick 18 holes (online)! I still haven't received anything! I doubt if this a problem from my end as I get emails from others often.Would you be happy posting your email address here so that I can email you? Or are there perhaps multiple chat rooms somewhere you would be more comfortable posting parts of your email address for me to assemble? If this were the 80's I would suggest a brush pass or dead drop just like we used to do when fooling the russians with our tradecraft! (haha! read too many le carre novels I think!).
Mitm & LW,what you guys have said is interesting. The impression I got from the interviews (especially the "crux" interview ) from Tim's response on Iamgold & Senala is that they (Iag) are going to slowly get things to a tipping point whereby just enough proof is there to make up their minds to go full steam ahead (payday for ORR) but not uncover that much that the ORR payment has to be more than they want to pay. Perhaps this is a little simplistic but Troajan is the guy to ask about this as he has actually experience working in this industry.
Leathal,I don't have any blocked emails from SCO i do have one SCTK but that is the closest!
Leathal,I usually just block emails I get in my "junk" folder immediately as I have had a lot of those weird emails from (possibly) hackers! Can you tell me here ONLY the first 3 characters of your email address and I will check what I have blocked and unblock any starting with those 3 characters, sorry about this I'm a bit paranoid when it comes to internet security!
Hi Mitm,You seem to be one of the more clued up posters on this board so I doubt anything I have said so far has come as a surprise to you but there are many here that lack the experience to trade the market profitably (or those that have an agenda). I hope for everybody's sake that the next set of results are the ones that will bring the SP back up for those sophisticated traders/investors to rescue the situation and get themselves back on a good footing, good luck m8.
Hi Leathal,I haven't received your emails are you sure you have my email address written down correctly? I have re-checked what I gave you and it IS my email address (I didn't make a mistake in writing it as I have it programmed into my keyboard - I just press F7). Look forward to hearing from you.DST
Morning guys, I would like to point to something In said the other day as I think that some here could benefit. I was talking about trading strategies and that I have always believed that EVERY stock can be traded you just need to work out how. I have privately considered the posts of some here as,at the very least misguided if not downright misleading whether intentionally so by people I consider to be "ramping" the stock for their own gain or whether by inexperienced, worried traders that are trying remain positive in the face of a sinking SP.
What I hinted at the other day needs to be highlighted a bit more so that others can comment and perhaps change strategies in order to start making money from Oriole. So here is my view on how Oriole should be traded (I hope this,at the very least, gives some food for thought!):-
If I were heavily invested in ORR right now with, let's say 6,000,000 shares, I would be adopting a LTH strategy with 50%(insert your own % here 30%-70%) of the stock and short-term trading the other 50% (70%-30%) selling those on the next spike higher. I would then be seeking out a "medium-risk" company to invest this "freed up" money in while the ORR SP sinks back after the initial excitement of more news pointing to "Oriole's Potential"!!! Once the SP has drifted back to a point I would consider a "bottom" it would be possible to sell the Med-risk stock and buy back into Oriole.
1. You would STILL be invested in Oriole "if the balloon goes up"
2. You would be looking at blue on one side of your PF which would cancel out the red from Oriole (helps stop you from turning slowly insane as you watch Orioles' ever receding SP!)
3. After the first cycle (and THIS could be done over & over again) your 6,000,000 would now be 8,000,000 and the extra won't actually have cost you a penny more!
4. For those who are actually probably better suited to being more active with their investments it will "scratch an itch".
5. You will be making a profit (always a good thing!)
I'm sure if I sat here long enough I could probably come up with another 5 reasons if I tried but you get the gist of what I'm saying. If you agree with me that "every stock can be profitably traded - you just need to work out how" then you may realise that perhaps you haven't been trading the stock, up to now, the way the stock needs to be traded. Hope this helps.
P.s I said that the rainy season had started in Senegal a few days ago which was incorrect - I was looking at my calendar when I posted that not the actual weather forecast . The rainy season in Senegal is from June to October as we all know but the weather today is a hot 32 degrees with little chance of precipitation (but humidity levels ARE rising so the rains won't be far away).
Yes m8, I've got BP in my low risk section and TLW in my high risk. Too much exposure to the same sector I hear you cry and maybe you're right but they are 2 very different kinds of company.
Hi Guys,I've had the builders in today so it's played havoc with my trading & posting! LW to answer the question you posed Troajan:-
"... do these periods of low sentiment represent good buying opportunities in the out of favour sectors until sentiment returns (so hold with patience), or do you follow the money and switch over to where the sentiment is e.g. oil and lithium?"
I think it depends on your trading style/plan as some people are "contrarians" and look for beaten up stocks in beaten up sectors to buy up cheap as they know that, as everything is cyclical, eventually THAT dog will have its day!
Some people are short-term traders (or people like me that have no allegiance to any particular style but will make money any way they can!) and will look to follow "the heat" in order to feed with the other sharks! Also, of course we need to view the "economic cycle" and the stage we find ourselves in atm as THAT tends to favour certain sectors (and also tells us which sectors are likely to come up next in the next stage).
I agree LW,I have always taken the view (from my TA teacher decades ago) that ALL stocks can be traded - you just need to work out how. That does not mean that I am analysing EVERY stock of course but when something catches my eye I look closely. You can actually take a multi-pronged approach with individual stocks (as I think I have alluded to previously). Oriole is an example in question where you could keep some of your holdings laid by for when "eldorado" is found and the SP heads up to £10 per share and trade the dips & spikes with the other portion of the Oriole shares you own. Then it just comes down to a matter of proportion really 50-50, 60-40,70-30 whatever you choose! Just buying £30,000 worth of Oriole @0.5 and sitting on it while it goes up to 2p and then back tom 0.5 again just doesn't make any sense to me!
Mitm,I agree with everything you have just said (though if I had said it I would have been shot down for doing so!). I hope that I am wrong in my assessment of what Iamgold are doing at Senala and that the results are fantastic though my first thought in situations like this is to doubt & question (hope for the best but expect the worst!). Like everyone I deal in "probabilities" and am of the view that it is more probable that the current SP will go down - I said this two days ago and meant every word of it! That is not to say the the SP will not start to look very enticing if it does reach those levels. There comes a point with every stock whereby the cheapness of it is just staring you in the face but we are not there yet as far as I'm concerned.
Leathal,do you remember months ago when I talked about the books you should read? Well,if you get a copy of "The little book of market Wizards" by Jack D. Schwager it covers a number of very important aspects of trading/investing. Chapter 3 covers "trading your own personality" and is very important when considering what kind of trading/investing you want to do (which will then indicate which kind of stocks to trade and which ones to avoid) eg if you are one of these types that craves action everyday buying and selling the same stock for small gains (which add up eventually into big ones of course) or if you are a much more patient type (a la Warren Buffett) that is comfortable owning stock for 50 years.
You will find if you trade your personality the experience will be less stressful and more rewarding. There is much much more to trading/investing than newbies realise and study is never a bad thing.
JTB & Leathal, the TA showed that the current negative cycle wsbn is not finished yet as I said yesterday,I have no idea when that will conclude. RSI & MACD are both momentum indicators and need a little time to show that the current negativity has ended and that the buyers have returned. Some people try to jump the gun and buy in early but I have always tried to take a more cautious approach waiting until things have turned back up. Momentum trading is not complicated and, like range trading, can be done profitably by even the most inexperienced of trader/investor. Fundamentals are vital though and must be taken into account - not solely TA as a reason for acting!
JTB,I can't argue with that. Good comms is vital, bad comms or no comms at all leads to confusion, anguish and investors either selling when they should hold or holding when they should sell! Traders/investors (whatever they want to call themselves) base their financial decisions partially on what the RNS delivers newswise and if they aren't clear then pain/hardship can ensue.
Hi Troajan,I don't know ecr well but the SP has fallen about 5% this morning, did the results disappoint?
Gilen22,what the market is looking for is evidence of gold found "...in industrially mineable quantities..." so far neither the news today nor earlier in the week has shown that. What you will see with the SP is a small pop higher then,as realisation dawns that THIS isn't "eldorado", the SP will then continue sinking.
I'm not saying that Oriole won't find eldorado but at this moment in time all we are seeing is "POTENTIAL" and the SP is NOT going to rocket upwards on hope again as easily as it has done up to now as investors are wise to things now. There are some that are rueing not (partially) selling some of their stock on Tuesday @0.70 when I advised but if the SP goes up to that mark today I would advise the same thing as it will be back at 0.5 again within weeks! Don't just hold the stock make money out of it!
