I agree Brucie. It was quite a heavily contrarian position to take and a significant forecasted drop in value with no specific elaboration.

There's a lot of muck in them Muddy Waters, and a fair few pirrana as well. Maybe a shark or two, some bobbing water mines and add as you see fit... :)

Personally I think this may drop a bit further before the long slow crawl up.

There is still mud stuck on BUR (no pun intended) and it will take them a while to shake it off.

I think it could take 12 months to see over £20.

Well said Yorkie, the tabloid flavour of the topic is a Shorter distraction sadly taken up by FT and other former reputable newspapers. All the newspapers these days seem to jump on salacious tripe.

This shows me that low punches by the dirt slinging side of the shorting brigade have sink to new lows which conversely appear a good sign as this means they are desperate as those still holding short positions are now worried that the SP isn't going down.

A well placed RNS or news item will blast the shorters to smithereens. Here's hoping.

Buy back was something they dangled, I think it's only something they'll entertain if they have to as they normally plough cash back into the business.

Personally I think it may help in the near term and then they may undertake another rights issue later downstream once all the current hubub is put in the past

Guys and Gals can we please manage the badinage. We are on this board to help and inform eachother to progress our wealth. Recently this BB has deteriorated into some very base ways of communicating.

Filter out the people you have no interest in but those genuinely wanting to make bank on BUR need to support each other.
I am invested deep with BUR as I think they know what they are doing but they are innovative which has made some of their bond suppliers twitch and given some pedestrian press a field day.

There are some knowledgeable posters on this board whom I'm keen to learn from as I'm still a bit new to the wider art of investing.
I'm not a fan of shorting, I think it's its ethically flawed because once undertaken the shorters pursue an agenda on hatcheting the company under attack but I appreciate shorting exists so we just have to deal with it.

But, don't feed the loonies on this board and you can work out the loonies for yourself.

This has turned into a bar brawl and MF (sic) are a street fighter and the ivy league types are going to have to roll up their sleeves and lose some teeth if they are going to win the fight and that win ain't coming soon. Those double your money predictions are looking fragile now, check out the bonds FT link I posted. If we are going to double our money it's going to take a long time in my view and I'm a 10K holder (small fry really amongst others) now pondering to dump Monday as the Shyte is going to fly next week

Fair point Yorkie, to be clear I'm not defending those clowns at MF but just highlighting that the evidence to link the two needs to be determined. The crumb trail is key which is why comms and business links with MF have to be scrutinised. Bring in the Feds I say :)
