It's not pleasant, no. But it's better to be realistic than assume a quick return. And yes, they indeed can shoot up quickly (sometimes on the back of nothing). But I think if you take the view that it will take time, which in general the majority of them do, it avoids disappointment and anxiety.
If it comes good sooner then it's a bonus. But most of these companies need headline-grabbing deals, orders, sales (lots of them) and revenue. And to turn in a balance sheet that's in profit, not just breaking even or in the red. There's lots of potential here and a hopefully exciting future. But it's still early days imo, as per where it really needs to be. I think next year will tell us a lot more.
