Noted gripes
The first objective of a CEO is to manage the board to the best of their ability through expertise in aspects of the service provided. I’ve seen CEO`S dig their heels and stem any unwanted correction by a CFO which was not the Case at this AGM. To be corrected and acknowledge their expertise is not a show of weakness, its respect and trust.
Tradeflow 17% increase not as much as previous years but still represents a year on year increase. The number crunch will be at the year end.

MOVING ON
Az has without doubt put his head on the block with his announced time schedule for the first IM.
I have faith he will keep his word, if he doesn’t all will know the consequences . The big challenge is how the first IM is seen by watchers. In real terms is this enough evidence to trigger more funders and customers in the coming months?

IMO, I view this collaboration as important as the Tradeflow buyout.

Vechain is one of the first to openly publish its Strategic Alliance with SYME and appear confident to work through Web3 (VeChainThor public blockchain).
Vechain has an interesting open adoption model which proactively seeks developers including funding of successful candidates. SYMES cross tradFi-Defi approach has sparked interest to the degree of a stage 2 work through commitment. This is a first in open public announcements in years.
VeChainThor public blockchain is proven cutting edge tech backed by 4 years continuous operation without any downtime, impressive.
I`m not alone in watching this fintech and when SYME meets is objectives through a stage 2 scale up confidence will ensue turning watchers to partners . Supply chains and its funding is a mess, so as finance tightens perhaps our pocket size AZ and partners can help solve one problem of strangling supply chains.

Overall, I thought the AGM was very positive and informative. All the BOD were upbeat and were happy to address a number of queries regarding progress.
Explanations given with reference to the role of NFT (non-fungible token) DEFI (Decentralized finance) & CIEFI (centralized finance) gave an insight into how easy it is to misunderstand how incredibly complex and innovative the process is.
SAP (TAULIA) Backed by Unicredit & J.P Morgan plus Demica (Supply Chain Finance) all very much onboard.
An honest response re Captive bank, with further work around IFRS regulation and noting that commercial banking changes their criteria on a weekly basis. This falls in line with the Tradeflow DP World relationship work thorough of the digitization process of KYC given on an advisory and trading capacity from Tom James.

The collaboration and good will between BOD was evident. Lots of smiles and didn’t spot any signs of friction which in my book is rare and shows they are enjoying what they do and who they are working with.

They did listen and acknowledge that improvements regarding market reach need to be addressed. This was borne out by one multiple company CEO letting loose that his companies were adapting post Brexit and were very interested but had not been approached by SYME.
Nicola appeared very approachable signalizing to make contact after the meeting.

Most partners like investors need proof of process including honing the model in line with current and legal practice.

The majority of time taken is at stage one. This is purely due diligence & KYC following an application. Amendments to the capital requested and what Inventory can be monetised will often result in reductions to the original capital requested.
Syme then reports back to the company with the amended capital value of finance. This then must be agreed by the company and its share holders before moving onto stage 2. (not a quick process)
Once approved by the company the process reaches stage 2, it then takes approx. 20 days before final IM approval is granted.
The whole process is very much hands on, and the BOD are up for scaling up for more bums on seats to give the required quality of service that demand brings.
To summarise all involved partnerships are keen to see Syme fit for purpose. The first Real IM due this month will be a starting gun in the next stage of this innovative Fintech.

Unsurprising that there’s still a void between Mainstream and Digital asset funding when it comes to assurance.
IMO syme should have utilised NFT within the platform years ago. Shed fulls of value tied up in digital currencies wondering how to monetise their assets.

PHE Due diligence of available funding crucial re longevity of time scales.
Research projects to date well-funded. Not up to speed on terminology however Inclusion of implementation stage project assistance appears to be gathering momentum.

We have seen a change in supply chains geopolitical protection, having to deal with Tinpot regimes etc as counties grab at essential supplies.
This will have influenced SYMES 2021 global model objectives. SAP, Deloitte and DP World are all seeking solutions.
I can see a radical rewrite of strategy considering received funding.
My point is clarity and regular reporting is now paramount as a time schedule has been set by those funding strategy developments.

If its CEO Richard Hodgkinson knocking some heads together to get things moving, then good on him. A couple of months in, setting a time scale for the TIC build and most importantly a demonstratable plant indicates all the hallmarks of a doer. No excuses on this one as it’s just a scale up.
With everything else outstanding Mr white is pulling from HUI`s perspective.
The best scenario I’ve seen to date especially as a lot of folk now nervously sat on cash.

Russia Ukraine/USA -Taiwan(china) is accelerating the need for alternative energy sources away from dependence on fossil fuels.
World Hydrogen infrastructure is in its infancy. volatility is already with us.
IMHO now is the right time for a TIC build as the reality of instability through dependence on fossil fuel sinks in.
I just hope that scrutiny/planning is less of an issue with a technology centre so we can all move forward and sort out this fantastic plastic mess.

I`m encouraged by the news of Global Technology and Innovation Centre.
It widens the horizons of (PHE) Engsolve design and provides a platform of expertise for customise design solutions meeting customer’s capacity, localised feed stock and geopolitical factors including environmental regulations etc.

Technology and innovation centers as hubs often engage with university research facilities not to mention PR opportunities and the associated finance TIC`s attract.

I wonder if Peel or our enthusiastic UNI connections have had any input? Does Protos = turnkey?

No mention of any change to ongoing projects, E.G. Irish wax/potential DMG or a customised solution is still unclear but perhaps a broad-brush approach is seen as the way forward by both PHE and HUI.
What ever materialises its still a 3-year timescale for me.

I agree a functional plant is the goal and will get big media cover.
Media is a changing, as small groups/organisations now have the means to make a lot of noise.
Plastic is a dirty word. Recycling is under intense scrutiny.
On success competition will try to smear PHE with anything it can.
My point is engaging with clean-up environmental groups at an early stage will strengthen the company’s ethos, helping to extricate fake Greenwashing claims.
