" You can earn £500 in divs though without having to declare it in a non ISA standard trading account."
It's £2,000...
But that's a side issue. The rules are very clear:
"If all the shares in the holding are disposed of, the allowable expenditure is all of the pool of cost. If only some of the shares are disposed of, the allowable expenditure is a fraction of the pool of actual cost. The fraction is ‘Number of shares sold’ divided by ‘Total number of shares in the holding’."

Is this a dream...?
If you buy 10,000 shares at £20,000 and make 10% = £22,000 @ £2.00 cost & £0.20 profit per share
You sell £20,000 (9,091 shares) = £2,000 left = 909 shares @ £2.00 cost & £0.20 profit per share
Valuation = £2,000
Total cost = £1,818
Profit = 10%
"well do you see how you can have average lower than yearly low 23p ?
Azzurri
65p end of year"
Depends how you look at it. In the real world, however, you can't. When you sell you take profit and cost in proportion to your position. If you're 100% up and sell half of your holdings you're not averaged to £0 per share. The cost basis stays the same.
"Can anyone make any sense on this BB?"
Sometimes, but for the most part it's the text equivalent of a head on car crash, where the cars have "30p!" and "80p!" emblazoned on the sides and both drivers are screaming "DYOR!" at each other.
