Solar and batteries are just an expensive way of importing coal derived energy from China……. when they tell you the planet is dying nobody tells you there are so many people getting fat between that nugget of coal and the silicon solar panel……..

Yep…..they have more fossil fuel power stations than fuel at the moment……the Yunus promises will wear thin soon and then the students will look at other proposals……get the coal feed the power stations then while the balance of payments improve fill the fields and rooftops with cheap panels manufactured locally!!

I personally would sooner have over zealous centre right own resources than these green loons shutting down the only sensible option to get Bangladesh on its feet……..

solar power- we have too much cloud coverage. it will take twice as much time to get the investment back, if compared to ****stan or usa. that makes it a poor investment choice. battery is the least of our problems.

windmills - wind in bangladesh is not consistent in terms of both speed and direction. therefore it is very difficult to maintain a stable power supply with windmills throughout the year. moreover, cyclones hit our coastlines very hard resulting in severe damage to the windmills. that makes it another poor investment choice.

Read an article other night about China investing $50bn into Africa for renewable etc…..so China gets the vast mineral wealth and in exchange solar……that’s ok if everyone is happy and if the interim govt of Bangladesh think China will throw billions into the country without anything in return is delusional in my opinion……Yunus/BNP can have as much solar as they like,they can build their own China with even setup the facilities but they will want Bangladesh resources in exchange!…..cheap electric equals cheap solar panels?……my moneys on Yunus moving his chess pieces around till new yr then the new govt probably BNP doing the real work?

World bank loan request of $1 bn will sit on top of  $18.2bn already owed by Bangladesh as of May 2024!……

Asian development bank owed $31.8 billion by Bangladesh extra $1 billion sought by Yunus and the cuckoo govt……

$1bn sought from Japan on top of $9.1bn already owed

External debt around $100bn May 2024,servicing that debt $2bn a month!!

Nearly all these loans and loan requests have a green slant so I suspect this is why staunch advocates of own resources in the cuckoo govt are keeping their head down!

If BNP stick to this plan I will be very happy,they are currently the biggest party in bangla as awami support has been trashed…….the country needs own resources and the sooner Yunus accepts he can only do so much without constitutional reform the better…..AP news reported yesterday a lot of these show piece arrests of former govt people are weak legally,lots of unrest with factory workers over 100 garment factories closed yesterday,and the students may get impatient again if they don’t see the path to constitutional change?
