Hi Admin, I know that you cannot get live share prices at the moment but wondered whether you could extend your risers/fallers to a heat map chart. I find it a very useful/visual tool.

Thanks for the reply. I couldn't get onto my usual platform and seeing the risers changing so quickly I thought you might be trying out an upgrade.

Are my eyes deceiving me or is that real time update on top risers? I think your news updates are pretty swift too.

Hi there PB, yes it's very interesting the uranium issue. I met someone last summer who told me nuclear was the only viable option long term (we had been talking about the LHC at Cern). As for KAH and URU looking at the char...errr...candles..errr statistics..erm news (oops sorry PB... don't you start steamimg!))it seems the crowds are on to them. Will some now take profits? Will the RIO angle and the nuke news keeps things on the up? We shall see. Best wishes though and happy trading!

Hi Mark, KIS and PB. Do you recall I posted about the spread between WTI and Brent a wee while ago and KIS explained that they are different markets? The spread is usually 1.50 but has been much higher of late 7.00-10.00. The International Energy Agency are saying that Brent is now more representative of global markets than WTI. Seems that the comment made by analysts that WTI was based on fundementals not sentiment (which they said Brent price was based on) may not have been correct. Also I think I read that oil prices would go as low as 1982 prices from 2009 to 2010. Can't remember where I saw it.

Hello ParanoiaBlue, well what can I say? Thanks you so very much! I did look at Money Week's website but couldn't find your particular article so thanks for posting. Being someone new to all this I am trying to establish whether I am following the news and the "fallout" (pardon the pun)correctly. (I used to be quite good at taking a morass of information and focussing on the real issues but it's been a while now (tiddlywinks and all that)so I am trying to re-build my confidence). I think in the long term nuclear energy and associated/supplier companies will be the ones to follow (and green energy too aka Obama although it will be interesting to see how far the budget will stretch ). Re news I mentioned to mark-expat that news seems to have a life cycle but I have learnt, in the last few weeks, that as in business if it doesn't make sense and doesn't seem to be synchronised to a company's strategy there is usually more to come. Thanks again and sorry for taking up oil/gas space. I might also become a subscriber of Money week.

Keep it simple and mark-expat (off topic again I know but still a commodity so hopefully you won't mind) what's your view on uranium? As I have posted on other boards nuclear power seems to be taking off again with many reactors mooted. I read that "the demand for uranium concentrates is directly linked to the level of electricity generated by nuclear power". If nuclear power stations get the go ahead and demand increases for uranium then I imagine they will need to increase exploration and mining (I understand in today's climate investment could be limited in theory but as Europe suffered again this winter re gas I begin to wonder if they will want to reduce their reliance on gas/oil and invest. I guess this is a long term issue but I'd be really interested in your views.( I know you all short at the moment but I'm looking to build a portfolio that will take advantage of today's troughs). Ta.

In defence of sheep did you know that they remember their friends faces for up to two years (their facial recognition is almost as good as ours)and yes they do have "friends" as it is believed facial recognition is connected with sheep socialising with each other. They also self medicate when ill, recognise human faces (I can assure you my sheep know me) and recognise each others bleating. Sheep are not as dumb as you might think! Nothing to do with the oil but there it is.

Keep it simple - well the really good news is Russia's 10 year Gas agreement and peace in Gaza but the bad news is I saw oil at $25 "cannot be ruled out before the turn".

I read an article which says that oil traders are quietly pricing some of their deals away from West Texas Intermediate contract as it's being distorted by record inventories at it's landlocked delivery point. It quotes an oil market analyst who says Brent now arguably more reflective of global oil sentiment. However, another anlayst says WTI is better reflecting global oil fundamnetals than Brent. Keepitsimple. Thank you for your posts.. fascinating and frightening. I thought one of the rules of leadership was to find your experts...and then listen to them. Have you read A History of Modern Britain by Andrew Marr? It looks like you did very well on gold. When to cash out should be interesting with gold tipped to go higher and if not gold then the USD (a win/win for you). Your decision not to jump into property has also proved very astute. (Perhaps you should be an advisor for HMG!).
