Closing your positions

I just did a partial transfer to HL. From the time the funds were displayed as sold in my other pension it took 3 business days to transfer the money into my HL account using the automated process.

The biggest time sink is your current provider choosing your positions

Strummer - Agreed there. Theres very little benefit to me adding more at this price, and my GGP holding is already way top heavy. All new money is now going elsewhere for two reasons. 1 to balance my portfolio a bit better, and 2 because the returns can be better elsewhere ( assuming my stock picking improves)

Strummer - One thing to remember is that people who bought in low are still getting good returns from GGP on the price movement.
A 1p movement in the price when you bought in at 1p is a 100% gain on your initial investment.
The same movement if you bought in at 30p is only a 3% gain on your initial investment.

Trucky it's possible they're either a young investor and therefore have a longer time period before they'd traditionally retire.
Either that or the amount available for loading up was in smaller quantities.

Devils advocate of course, but it is possible
