Toze - How recently did you go back in? Afterall share prices can go up or down so theres always a good chance to be down in the initial period after a purchase. Buying in and expecting a rise straight away is on a par with gambling
Gate13boy - The trouble with this line "The final dividend will continue to be paid in May, following approval at the AGM. " is its ambiguous. It could refer to the final quarterly div, or it could mean that the 2019 one will remain in May and in future years the final quarterly one will too.
I'm asking because i remember someone a few weeks back saying there wasn't going to be one in May 2020
Ok lets scratch the idea of a special for the moment, however they're unlikely to want to drop the final for 2019. Should we assume then that there'll be a final divi for 2019 paid in May of around 2.14p?
Given i've already said its an assumption that there'll be the 2019 end of year divi's paid in May 2020, i also assumed that given theres been specials in 2 of the last 4 years theres a 50/50 chance of getting a special.
Regardless, the more important question is whether my assumption of a divi in May is correct or not
