Having had the full treatment for high-risk bilateral breast cancer (multiple surgeries, chemo, radiotherapy, hormone drugs), I understand that if (or more likely, when) it returns, the characteristics of the cancer may well have changed from the primary and a tumour biopsy will be required to determine how to treat it.
I am a perfect candidate NOW for Parsortix - studies have shown that my particular type of cancer usually returns after 10 years and I am just past that. There are many types of breast cancer and advance warning of what would help/hinder the cancer before a tumour appears is surely invaluable. I am angry and dumbfounded why the NHS is not crying out for Parsortix and confused why clinical UK use appears to be governed by the FDA in USA.
