just bought back in with a 16.33 average. hopefully won't prove to be misjudged.

I have been stuck in this share for a long time now. the dividends at first were really good, but the last one was really poor. would like to think that they will do a special along with the interim, but won't hold my breath. I just have no faith in this management team to deliver....every time you think a corner has been turned and it all gets wiped out. I am guessing that AHL was down again yesterday. I guess that if the market starts sliding, then that should be the perfect opportunity for AHL to latch on to....in theory anyway!

as I said a few days back, it seems that AHL goes up when the FTSE does (in general) and goes down when it does too. down 1.2% yesterday.....they seem utterly unable to get it right! am so frustrated with the management re AHL.

the next near term catalyst will hopefully be the successful sale of PB. if BBY gets anywhere near $1billion for it, then that should give a big boost.

anyone else interested in HYC currently? looks like two chunky buys came through around 10.30. volume already three times the daily average, yet price not budging either way. I say buys, as I paid 429.64 for 1000 at 10.14, so as the bid and ask remained the same for the two large trades will put them down as buys.

AHL's performance is encouraging - I just hope they have built in safeguards this time round to prevent it spinning into heavy losses for week after week should the market turn, which is highly probable now.....well, a correction at the very least. I think that Numeric could well be a good addition if the deal goes through at the RIGHT price...hopefully Manny will not be drawn into overpaying. Had a look at the 2013 results last night, and I didn't realise quite how much cash was on the balance sheet at 31/12/13 - $990 million plus $700 odd million of surplus capital, even after clearing all the outstanding debt.

at 430.69. have noticed that both have been recorded as sells on here though.

Partnership has been steadily rising over the last few days. getting up to circa pre-divi. levels. hope there is the good news that ayoayo speaks of next month

bought in again - 1000 at 429.205. feel this is decent value at these levels . annual results on the 11th june and final divi. early july

yes, I realise that. just found it incredible last year how AHL had got itself to the virtual HWM and then lost all the gains so incredibly fast....AHL has got up to about 1.156 so far - just don't want to see the same pattern repeat, not that I have any confidence in the management at Man.

I truly hope that when the correction/fall (take your pick) comes along it's not going to lose value like it did last time. I was in awe of how spectacularly useless AHL was last year, dropping from 1.29ish to 1.03ish(?) in a couple of months or so! I wish I had more faith in this BoD to deliver, but I want to see progress first.

was up 2.3 in the week to the 19th - up to 114.6. if we could get some sustained increases over the summer, but we have been saying that for the last 3 years odd....

if it makes that in the next couple of months, i'll be rather pleased! I'd settle for a steady rise to the 30s...
