Yes, it's 'stuck' in this trading range. AHL is performing very strongly - hopefully up again yesterday, as it gained 0.2% on Monday even with the big drop. GLG not performing to the levels of last year, but most funds are doing ok. Included in the H2 figures will be the US acquisitions with around $15billion of AuM. Am assuming that Q3 figures on the 16th October will hopefully boost the share price to the upside.

I just don't get the valuation of this company - almost £1.8billion?! Neither long (you may have guessed!), nor short, but can't fathom how this trades on such an enormous p/e?

We're stuck in this trading range currently....hopefully , a positive q3 in October will push us past resistance. After all, they did say that they had soft closed an AHL fund to new money due to unprecedented demand.

this has fallen almost vertically from just under 270 to 228 in just over 2 weeks....I'd suggest it's overdone. I know the insurance industry is not flavour of the month currently, but I have taken a small position around 235.

perhaps volcano, but got to be limited surely , assuming guidance is met. roughly one sixth of the m'cap. is in cash now.

just looking back at the 6 month chart, it spent the best part of a month technically oversold (below 30 RSI) between mid June and July, so perhaps it will stay like this until the end of September. I have requested the date for the Q3 IMS today (due sometime in mid October). hopefully, that'll provide a base to build off. counting on no more surprises between now and then .....as in the revised guidance released last month will hold true.

just checked the figures - no debts at all and £48.1million of cash as at the 30/6/14.

this is really looking very oversold now....maybe it has further downside, but surely can't be too much?

Again reminds me of Hyder - even down to the similar price. Think there could be one final shake into the 390s perhaps. I think that the company currently has approx. 48million of cash and no debts . Stand to be corrected if wrong! I believe that they'll continue to innovate and get new products to market. A buying opportunity for me.

Q3 IMS released on 16th October. A while away, but should hopefully be very positive. Should be a catalyst for the shares if positive.

Wasn't it up 1.3%? Still , a good week, plus all glg units returned positive performance. FT read very bullishly-it actually mentioned a sharp rise in inflows to AHL Evolution in particular...so much so that it has been soft closed to new money. Also, massively outperforming other hedge funds. Therefore , we're down again this morning .

Have you seem the FT story from yesterday , Fatlad? It's a good read. Not sure how much longer they will hold the sp down...

great minds, eh? I bought into hyder too, but missed out on the takeover premium - very frustrating! anyway, in here with 4000 at 425. reassuring that the r&d director bought £100k of shares - he must have a good idea of the new products and the direction the company is heading in.

why is this being issued?

up 0.6% to 1.3124

this sort of reminds me of Hyder Consulting - knocked down on a profits warning and eventually (6months later?) taken over (or in the process of being) at a sizeable premium. could see this becoming a target if the share price lingers in the low400s. just my opinion.
