Yes, I saw you on the HOC board - nice work. I sold a quarter of my holding at 85/6ish from an average of just under 69p. Still holding 30,000 and doing me very nicely indeed. Another good rise today. Anyway, back to Esure! It is rather unloved , I agree....I hold 12,000 at a 216p average - not sure whether to add more currently .

haha! Hi Blue, yes, it's a good income share. Seems to suffer from a lot of negative sentiment though, that doesn't appear to affect Admiral and Direct Line. At this price I think Esure is a pretty safe bet. It's a 5.1% yield off the final divi. alone, let alone taking the interim into account. Even allowing for a possible cut next year(?), then it should still yield over 5% which easily beats any bank account.

9 trading days until it goes ex-div.. looking for consolidation around the 230 figure prior. gives a one off yield of 5.1% at the current share price (228)

Is an activist value investor. He has stakes in a number of companies , often through Seren. Bodes well....hopefully!

My apologies if my earlier comment seemed dismissive - wasn't meant to. You probably know a lot more about the company than me. Having spoken to their PR it didn't seem there were any worries on that score(tax). Could be wrong! Been very high volume yesterday and today. Nice to see it moving up! well, it's not that hard to find out... however, the interim was 5.1p, and the final announced today is 11.7p - goes ex-div on the 9th April. makes a full year dividend of 16.8p. equates at current share price to a yield of 7.9%.

to Admiral . Admiral made £357 million profit before tax and Esure made £103 million before tax. Esure are currently valued at approx. £880 million (at 210p), Admiral are valued at approx. £4.1 billion (at 1480p). so, very approximately - Esure on a p/e of 8.5, whilst Admiral are on a p/e of 11.5. I don't think Esure warrants that level of valuation below Admiral.

equates to approx. 5.3% payout on a 220p price. I have just taken advantage of the drop , so might well stay in for that now.
