No it’s not a prototype of the finished product, it’s a proof of concept which is why Bond said ‘ what we’re looking at is scaling it and integrating it into a modularised form, and ‘we will have a prototype ready this time next year’.

It’s amazing that Bond knows it’s 50% cheaper than what’s in the market today before they’ve even scaled it, modularised it, made a prototype, designed for manufacture, what genius.

This isn’t even a product launch, it’s merely a design concept. Why is it only now being accelerated ? Bond has been spouting ammonia for years, or maybe everything that AFC work on is by default accelerated

Because the market knows what an AFC product launch actually means, it means this is the product we will have on the shelf for sale in a few years time, but we won’t sell any at that point because it will need to undergo extensive field trials and get customer sign off and then we’ll fundraise for mass manufacture and tooling

If that’s the case it means there’s no market for one

3 glaringly obvious issues with the RNS
1- when an RNS starts with - the hydrogen council blah blah blah
2 - now being accelerated lol
3 - new product release but no orders

Mind you, it’s 2 more than Bonds sold.

Immense opportunities yet he hopes in his interview that he’ll sell 2 systems in the next 12 months….

Unfortunately that’s what we’ve been doing for the last number of x years, and as yet the progress never makes it to sales and delivery of products.

AFC Energy (LON:AFC) said it continues to make good progress with the development of AlkaMem, its technology for electricity production from alkaline fuel cells.

Small scale membrane samples have been sent out, it said, while AlkaMem has been successfully scaled up in size within a commercial-sized fuel cell.

"AlkaMem has continued to show strong operational performance and the ability to scale this into a single commercial-scale fuel cell now means efforts can go into the design and engineering of the HydroX-Cell(S)TM fuel cell stack," said the statement.

Adam Bond, chief executive, added: The AlkaMem product series continues to gain traction with industry and academia and we are delighted to have commenced additional third-party membrane validation activities, in addition to that already conducted with [partner] De Nora.

“The growth in high-density fuel cell systems, such as our HydroX-Cell(S) platform, alongside the cost and scaling benefit of alkaline water electrolysis means the adoption of AlkaMem has the potential to be a key enabler of both systems in the fast-growing hydrogen economy."

Regardless of the published paper, years ago Bond said Alkamem was the holy grail and it was listed as a future revenue stream, how long now have those samples been with potential customers ?

No mention of any funding from AFC.
