have noted that the buybacks are only buying back 'a' shares, despite the announcm3nt saying they can buyback either a or b shares. have also noted the price parity between a and b shares now., always used to be a difference. Anybody have any thoughts on this?

in reality the divi yield is about the same in % terms for fresh shares bought today, but because LA bought the rdsb for £20 the yield in reality for those shares is higher in % terms than lloy shares bought today, if that makes any sense. So 'older' rdsb is definately yielding higher in 'cost' terms.

i hold a lot of rdsb at £12.52 cost price, so given the current divi vs original cost my yield is over double, same principle.

deductor. rdsb divis are paid 4 x per year. 30k shares x 0.37 = £11100 per 1/4 therefore £44400 per annum ( roughly)

riolto, iag is a good payer thats for sure. i think they will hit 500 on exdivi day so happy to either sell em or hold tbh. i hold mine in my ISA so dont have to worry about the divi using up my £2 k allowance, so shall just see how it goes and more thsn likely keep hold of them for a year or two.

i got greedy too, this game makes you like that. At least though glen allows you to take the divi on top of the £2k divi allowance, subject to GC tax of course if you sell too many and trade outside of an isa.

ken, the kiers lads will all find homes with thewater utilities as the water industry (in two compamies ive worked in for 30 years) binned direct employed workers some years back. yhey cannot afford to lose 5he trained up contractors, so 8m happy the lads i know will be ok. The water industry has deskilled so much over the last 20 years they have to buy everything in nowadays as only us old timers have any experience thesedays.
