pushing limited quants of water slowly with solar is possible horizontally, providing sufficent head/power to lift that up hills is quite another. Pipe bore is also relevent, small pipe= more friction to overcome so considerably reduced flows, worse when lifting. biggers pipes=much less friction, but larger pumps/more power/larger source/greater storage and buffers/cycling/expense/greater maintenance/on off on off etc etc etc.
What is needed here, once the mesiah determines his replenishment requirements from leakage/consumption/recycling, is a series of lifting installations to fill multiple staged storage vessels spaced along the route for onwards pumping to counter the elevation rise.
The key to the water issue is replenishment rate (hint Larry), that is what he needs to calculate and work back from.
a little experiment for home. Fill a bucket in your garden directly from your outside tap - lets say it takes 30 seconds for the sake of argument. Then connect up 300m of garden hose and do the same. It will take longer - and thats with a fairly constant pressure from the mains (which acts as a stabiliser to delivery pressure) and not some underpowered sun powered toy pump which will suffer the effects of frictional losses as well as elevational losses, lift the end up and see.

A BG engineer went to my wifes elderly friends house today to service her combi.
Spent most of his time apparantly trying to flog her a new one as hers "is 8 years old". Scared the life out of the poor woman.
She was quoted £3k for a straight combi swop out, no additional works needed.
Absolute daylight robbery.
Sold my gas business a few years back now, but could make a very handsome profit on half that price, like many indies currently still do.
So wheres all that overcharged money going?

From memory, they took on over 45k staff, and have kept a substantial portion of those permamently. Some may have been 'standins' for sick staff for a while but not the bulk. A significant number are now (the same as other supermarkets) picking or delivering product via additional vehicles, clearly adding to the costs involved following the change in shopping habit.
Quite clearly all this additional expense will weigh heavily moving forwards, not just this year - unless shopping demographics change.

Definately agree Hulvard. i have been looking at the main supermarkets a little to diversify and morrisons does indeed stand out as the cream, far far better than tsco for sure. Only have to look at where all the punters are shopping in my town to see who the masses prefer based on a good old scientific 'queue length' principle.

Im more interested in the water (or lack of) being installed, my specific field for over 30 years, and so 'switched off' from this company following the tardeness in getting this agreed and sorted over many years. Which has still not happened. I get the ongoing debate about funding bumbling along for this delay, but the essence is that had they spent this cash by now the very lucrative tant mine would be operational and cash generative - instead they sat on this doing nothing and eventually went for diamonds to raise revenue instead.
Details of what they are thinking of regarding water are vague to say the least, solar pumps mentioned previously are a stupid idea, will involve a lot of capex and deliver little flow, better to suck diesel and swallow the increased opex costs to produce the valuable offsetting tant, diesel is small change.
Installation time for a fossil powered small bore installation is quite fast, and off the shelf availible with untrained labour once designed. Just wish they would bloody get on with it and realise the originally indicated value in this tant company for its shareholders.

lots of assumptions in there and of course every single business operates with debt carried along as we all know, perfectly good business sense, particularly in a low cost environment as has been the case for the last ten years or so. Why risk your own cash when you can risk other peoples?
I think i'll leave it to the rya accountants to worry about, clearly they are not concerned, nor are the big guys buying in who will have a lot more clarity/knowledge than joe public ever could.

No doubt big money is working in questionable ways - it always has since it was first minted and printed, and always will be utilised in such a manner, a fact of life that isnt new.

Fundamentals. Hardly anybody is taking a blind bit of notice of them it seems i completely agree. It has made 'buy and hold' investors (like me) lifes a PITA this last year or two, ridiculus valuations and asset bubbles all over the place just waiting to burst. Many examples like tesla, crypto (a total nonsense) fartbook twitter etc, all built on nothing substantial or non-disruptable just hype and media manipulation. My particular favourite is Just Eat. Its just a bloody website with an easily duplicatable business model producing nothing. A middleman taking a slice so to speak and something now worth billions, comeon, it produces nothing.
Yet there are hard working industries out there keeping the lights on and the world turning with products that are actually needed by humanity being overlooked daily. Its madness however the
penny will drop one day.
Am looking forward to seeing what the rumoured Twitter competitor the orange man comes out with will do to that business.
